Spuds were singing plenty of “their” y!d songs throughout the game (or up until the hour mark). Not in same bracket but I think that should be stamped on as well (not sure how tho).
On twitter: SaintsfcCop@SaintsfcCop 15h15 hours ago That winning feeling for Saints fans today, sadly one arrest of a home fan after the match. Great atmosphere in the ground today #saintsfc Doesn't say what the arrestable offence was, hopefully picking off the culprit? It would be unfair to tar all Saints fans with the same brush, all Clubs have their share of rotten eggs, the majority deplore and reject any form of racist behaviour. Spurs themselves have a group of anti-Semitic fans, that claim the right chant their songs.
I think Sims has just thrown the door open with that display. Ralph had admitted he'd seen very little of him, so that was a great introduction. But there's other reasons we'll be seeing a fair bit of Josh in the run in. We've been desperately searching for a bit of pace, which we are clearly lacking. With Long often getting the nod, although he's been looking increasingly like a fish out of water in recent matches, and as a long term fan of his, I take no pleasure in saying that. Austin also looks shot now, even playing to his strengths, which I'll admit, we don't seem capable of. His presence just upsets the balance of the team. Josh is perfect for the mini shuffle, even if he's not a starter. Can't wait to see him after the football break, his confidence is going to be sky high, and I think we'll be seeing him progress properly, even 10% bodes well for the future. Oh to be an academy player here now, this feels like the Southampton way.....welcome back!
They use it as a way to defuse the taunts of opposing supporters. The irony is that there probably wasn´t one person of that particular community in their following. And anyone who has been to Tottenham will know that the Jewish community has long left the área.
Looking through the SFC squad for the match v Spurs, and over 50% have come through the British game. Something to be proud of in today´s PL. Same with Spurs, Burnley, Bournemouth, and perhaps Crystal Palace and Brighton!!!
This behaviour should be eradicated but why should another country have to put up with our undesireables
OK! My measured response is to take away their season tickets, report to the pólice station at kick-off time whenever SFC have a match, home or away and during that time pick up litter that the street cleaners miss. If they fail to cooperate, their employer is informed, or if self employed when their name goes in the paper it may well harm their business.
No point overreacting to the situation. But the least they can do is get the maximum punishment for disrupting the game by entering the field of play. Attempted assault, initiating a riot........and being the biggest twat in England......which takes some doing.
Let's not build Sims up too much only to shoot him down again. But In the few times I have seen him play for saints he has put in a decent shift. He seems like a typical Ralph type of player. Energy, speed, closing down and an eye for a good pass. Even if he is not a regular starter for the rest of the season, he could make a difference. Good luck to the lad.
