Unpleasant incident reported about 2 Saints fans yesterday. Headline talked about racist chants, but let's remember this was two people who were either truly anti-Semitic or thought they were being funny (amazing what some people think is funny). They left before half-time so were presumably ejected....good riddance. Surprised the journalist wished to remain anonymous...may suggest these people were truly dangerous looking. No place for this at St Marys. A Sunday Times journalist, who preferred to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals, was in the Kingsland stand of St Mary’s when a man in his twenties broke into a song that began: “Spurs are on their way to Auschwitz, Hitler’s gonna gas them again.” The game was only 10 minutes old at this point. Told that his song was racist, the man reacted by saying: “You’d better not come back next week.” Later in the first half, a friend of the man sang: “Same old Tottenham, all need gassing,” and “Get in the showers.” The pair, who were sitting next to a young boy and his father, left their seats shortly before half-time, shouting abuse at the journalist as they went. The incident was reported to stewards, though another Southampton fan told the journalist: “I’ll see you after the game.” The stewards found another seat for the journalist and offered to escort him out of the ground after the final whistle as a precaution, although this was not necessary.
Absolutely the comparison flatters JWP enormously. I started watching saints in the le tissier era, he was such a rare talent we will never see another like him in my lifetime.
Have watched game highlights about a dozen times...isn't it amazing to be able to watch a Kane goal against Saints with perfect equanimity.
The only person i've seen as comfortable on the ball as MLT is Messi. Started writing that as a funny, then began to real realise its truth.
Go back to the start of the thread. I said it would be good news for us. I don't think he was allowed into the changing room.
I thought of this as a tune, but these are someone else's words (to paraphrase Amy Winehouse - think): Valery, Valery, Why don't you keep on scoring, Valery Well, I like it
I think that happens a lot. As soon as it moved to the pushing & shoving I would have bet my house on it he was going for a 1-1 yellows. See it all the time. Easy get out of jail card for crap refs or should I be politically more correct & say refs having a poor game.
I was watching The Hütt at the final whistle, and he once again lost himself and ran on to the pitch to his players, before remembering he needed to shake the opposition manager’s (or assistant in this case) hand, and ran back, all apologies!
Stop trolling the Music nerds It has to be this tune, just finding the accompanying words. They usually have to dislike Pompey or be from somewhere
