I thought it was PEH worst game of the season (other than the sendings off), just watch him in the build up to the Spurs goal, very un-Pierre like in giving up and no effort. Maybe a bit of competition for places is needed? Bring on Lemina
Or they’re greedy little buggars!! My hens have plenty of the right stuff and free run of the garden and any grubs, insects they can find.
Feelin' groovy this morning. Mrs Onionman said that she's never before heard me even mention refereeing after a match. I think that means I can safely say that Friend really was dreadful. I disagree with the majority of opinion on here. I didn't think we were dreadful in the first half. I thought Spurs were magnificent in the first half, almost unplayable. They made us look daft but I think they would have made most teams look daft. In the second half they went back to a more normal level but, at the same time, suddenly we were on fire. My take on half time was that Ralph might have said something like "Lads, they think they're going to get another and win this at a canter. I promise I won't have a go if we lose 9-0 trying so go out there and try to win this." Certainly looked that way. We became a tad fearless. Josh Sims's arrival changed our fortunes - he's a terrier worrying at the heels of anyone who dwells on the ball. Loved seeing him on the pitch. He chased the ball down and had them worried. Was it just me who thought the injury to Shane might have turned out to be an important moment? He went off, Stuart came on and we *really* started scaring the willies out of them. I wish we'd play him a bit more in Shane's place. I know it means we're not playing with an out-and-out striker on the sheet but, if we're honest, we're not with Shane on the pitch either. So, jolly decent and makes me wonder why we make it look so hard at other times. Vin
It does sound like Josh Sims made a big impact on the game; I haven’t seen the game. I have said many times that I didn’t think he was up to it. I hope he carries on progressing and taking advantage of any chances he gets, to ram my words down my throat. Proof will be if he gets the starts and does this a few more times (not every time). If he does, fair play to him and those of you who thought he would. Fingers crossed. Ps. Who do you want me to say won’t make it next? I’m quite good at this
The Hütt said that Josh's being out on loan meant he hadn't had a chance to watch him train but that he's been very impressive. I suspect we'll see more of him. Ralph's full BBC interview is at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47424850 - they're always better than the heavily edited version you see on MOTD. Vin
Egg eating in hens (like winning in footy) is often an acquired habit. The above mentioned Maggie does lay some soft shelled eggs in winter no matter how much calcium we try to get into her. This means they break if trodden on and all the girls then tuck in. We've managed it with frequent checks to remove laid eggs*. Hens are a bit Wayne Rooney though, so if you change something in their routine or environment it can confuse them enough to change behaviour. * catch them mid lay and they go a bit Mourinho on you though
I have said similar to you but he undoubtedly made a huge impact, mainly from his energy and directness which seemed to be infectious. As Vin said we were fearless in the second half and he epitomised that from as soon as that whistle went in the second half.
The fact that Sims is BBC MOTM is an indicator of the effect he had on the game after coming on at half-time. Type of player that worries the opposition and is loved by fans.
Hangover in full flow. Feel like my head is going to explode. Pretty much lost my voice. ****ing love football
I know we don't have a match next weekend, but can't drop into bottom three....good psychologically. Burnley are the only team that can go over us...though they have to get a point at least off Liverpool or Leicester. We return to a match against Brighton, whereas Cardiff play Chelsea....no one can predict results, but could be a lot worse.
I wonder if Pochettino’s touchline ban has any bearing on their second half performance? Presumably he wasn’t allowed into the dressing room for a half time talk. I would love to hear what Ralph said to our lads at HT.
