Bit difficult between Didcot and Banbury on Sundays with Netword Rail engineering projects.

If he had put a one of his chances away, the pundits would already be selling him to Liverpool. I thought he looked dangerous, created space and opened up their defence. I think its a confidence thing because we know to our cost that he can hit the target.

Having watched back the highlights after watching the game earlier... some of our short passing and fast-paced play around the edge of the area was lovely.

We will frustrate but equally, no doubt there'll be some beautiful goals this season if that continues.

How about this to the old Transformers tune...

"MAR-TI-NA... more than meets the eye,
    MAR-TI-NA... Messi in disguise,
With the outside of his boot, he's gonna destroy, the evil forces of...
    The Defender-cons!"

    ... Or "Mandy"

    I remember Boxing Day
Raining down as cold as ice...

    Chorus:
Well you came and you scored against Arsenal
But they moan about you, oh Cuco
So You bent it like Carlos from Brazil
And we need you today, oh Cuco

On a more serious note does anyone think we'll offer Cuco a new contract?

Why not? He has looked solid to me for quite a few fixtures now and its always fun to have a fullback to shout to: "shoooooouuuutt" every time he gets within 30 yards of the oppositions goal! :emoticon-0100-smile

BTW - that must be one of the finest goals ever scored at St Marys! We will be still talking about it in a decades time.

    His name was Cuco,
    Our master-crosser.
Though many on SaintsWeb think 'tosser'.

    He scored a corker,
    To upset Wenger.
Crossing and scoring and later on whoring,

    He is Cuuuuuccooooooo,
    Cuco Martina!

Changing the subject ever so slightly, if Claude ever decides to play 3-5-2 he has a natural right-sided wingback in Cuco. He was brilliant in that cameo yesterday, and let no one forget the crosses for Austin on Thursday.

I'd be starting him over Cedric at the moment. Agree he'd be good as a wingback but think we're a bit short at cb to be playing that formation for a decent period of time.

Re: Redmond's confidence in front of goal, I personally thought that after he missed his sitter at the end of the first half the fans who started up chanting for Charlie Austin are only going to harm Nathan's confidence even further.

We know he's not a natural striker YET, but given a bit of time to adapt he may well get there. Think people have got too hung up on the Thierry Henry thing....Puel never said that if he moves to striker he'll be great there straight away. Only way hes going to get there is with patience and practice.
