I know it seems like I love him unduly (I do), but I thought Mara was excellent again when he came on. We have such an embarrassment of riches from the bench. Charly was given MOTM, but I thought KWP was a class apart tonight.
A 2-1 win which deserved to be a 4-0 win. The first half was the first time where I found myself starting to compare us to Man City - in the sense that it felt like we had an extra player, both with and without the ball. Obviously I'm in no way suggesting that we're as good as Man City. But watching them often feels like they have an extra player - and today, in particular the first half, I felt it was like that for us. It really is great to watch us at home right now. On to Monday (which won't be easy).
If I have it right, Plymouth didn’t set foot in our box, with the ball, until around the 25th minute. That’s how dominant we were.
QPR have held Ipswich to a goalless draw. The gap is down to 3 points. Our destiny is in our own hands now!
If we win all our games (obviously we won't) we go up. We beat Ipswich, we go ahead of them as our GD is the same as theirs currently.
Well no, because our destiny doesn't dictate how many goals they might score in all their other games. So, not quite, but nearly.
Well, whatever! To think we were 12 points back 2 weeks ago is absurd. I always said Ipswich would stumble at some point and boy have we capitalised.
Whatever happens New Year’s Day, we will still be 3rd after all games are played. Beating Norwich will be a MASSIVE result.
