Ah, the penalty that never was. God, I'll be pleased to not have to sit through another 90 minutes of Beckford falling over at every opportunity.
That is a good read! We're at home, buzzing, players massively want to prove themselves, we've got quality, momentum, and to boot, hopefully all the old Saints jinxes should be blown away by Adkins together as one, on the bus philosophy that has frankly....well worked so far!! Come on the Saints.
And there's nay a mention the 'ocassion' for us. Hopefully Adkins gets it right because the more I think about it Leeds do have the players to run out strong winners, maybe more than we do; with that powerful attacking midfield triumvirate and the platform Brown (who can play a bit, was a schemer whilst at Sheff Utd) is there to provide. The ball may keep back at us if we get hemmed in. If we do lose by a few we could have time to address a suspicion that we might need a similar enforcer in our ranks. We have a great array of smart, elegant and hard working players. But somebody in the Lorik Cana mould, a tough ex-eastern block cultured distributor to sit deep. The Schneiderlin/Hammond interchangeability has plus points when one's of em is injured, but it could possibly leave us short of options this season?
Thom Kirwin's come out on Twitter and said O'Dea's the likeliest option for left-back on Saturday so I guess the line-up will now probably be: McCormack Gradel - Howson - Snodgrass Brown - Clayton O'Dea - O'Brien - Kisnorbo - Connolly Lonergan Subs: Rachubka, Bromby, Nunez, Sam, Paynter.
Just wondering whether Adkins will start with Guly, Chaplow and Hammond in the middle of the park ( and Lallana on the left ), to ensure Saints aren't bullied off the park?
I predict a riot. Leeds fans drinking all day and vandalising the town, usual scenes when they come to town. Stupid idea this late kick off.
I predictive text a pint, shot, riot I'm sure it will be fine - Leeds have had many a late kick off before with nay bother
unfortunately your lot will riot and vandalize the town after receiving a thrashing from the mighty saints
No doubt the usual post-match tales of Leeds fans assaulting women, burning children at the stake and mortaring local mosques will abound.
All food for thought. Will be interesting to see what becomes the strongest midfield for us this season. We seem to have a lot to choose from in the middle now with Cork and Chaplow of course. Maybe spiderman will come into his own perhaps?
