Well I've just finished watching the game which I recorded earlier. Nice goal from Long who worked his socks off all evening, and I thought probably deserved MOTM ahead of Fonte. I blame Vic's injury on not enough time spent preparing for this game in the peat bogs of Ireland, and we will have to see just how our backup midfield copes in the next few games. JWP and Davis looked good too. Still, all in all a good, workmanlike performance, if a little on the dull side.
Should we get to the final or win it, no one will ever remember this game, except we won it, and that is what football is all about. Well done lads!
In a Cup, winning pretty is a luxury. Winning is all that matters. This game and the previous one between 2 teams with strong defences were never going to be attractive.
