I saw someone over on Saintsweb who claims to be ITK saying that Austin leaving should be priority number one this summer. Just said that he was a very disruptive influence
He has almost Godlike status on the QPR forum and they are always saying what a great lad he is, giving 100% on the pitch when others gave up. I don't believe a person's character would change that much over a year.
Well I have seen him out with other Saints players (mainly the younger ones). He was with Stephens when I saw him last and Stephens was a mess. Austin was laughing at him as Stephens couldn't walk properly due to being so pissed.
Footballers having a social life is not a new thing, I can remember Peter Shilton propping up the bar at Fridays nightclub and having to be carried out to a taxi by the bouncers!
Again different era, I get players wanting to socialise. But Austin wants to do it too much for my liking.
Like Vin says, ultimately he will be judged by his performances on the pitch, if he isn't in good enough condition to play, he won't play.
I can separate both. If he is leading the younger lads astray, then he needs talking to. It may not effect him, but it could effect them, he needs to realise his age. I have seen him with Reed looking a mess as well.
What he has been through recently would be enough to drive anyone to drink, let us see what he can do when he comes back before you start being judgemental.
If some of those playing on Saturday had been a bit inebriated they would probably have played better than they did!
I can still judge him now. Then judge him if he sorts it out, that's the point. Like if he starts playing and scores loads, I can still say I don't like his off field actions.
