I have a sneaking feeling the result will be the deciding factor in Mopo2's career here at Saints. If he loses I really cannot see him surviving after Christmas.

Any replacement manager (whenever that is) must be seen as a long term prospect....we don't need a stop gap. So is a long term prospect available in January? If not, why would we sack Mauricio....only if the board expect relegation and we aren't there yet. They must hope that either we can turn this season round or limp to the summer (when we have a better chance of a decent signing). Of course I have no problem if the board have a gem lined up now......I can live with being wrong (despite having little practice.....I'm sure fats can give me advice).

 

On Sky, they were showing our team training.....talking about VVD...natch. More interested in seeing our pocket rocket, Josh Sims, standing in Virgil's shadow. Hope he gets some match time soon.

 

I feel the complete festive package plus the Cup match a Fullham will be the deciding factor. This is us really guessing so it is foolish to speculate as I am sure that many of us were completely taken by surprise when Nigel was sacked, although he may have alluded to it in his interview after the 3-3 draw with Chelsea. But that's exactly how it always works. If you're better than other sides they tend to have slightly worse results than you do. You win some and lose some and so do they. I remember during the Championship promotion season there was a constant refrain of "the sides below us are only a win or two away from overtaking us". They didn't.

We're a mere three points above the drop zone as it stands. Fail to win any of the next three and we'll have a maximum of 19 points in 21...by virtue of the number of games played between the bottom eight if nothing else, we'd almost certainly find ourselves in a position where the results of any matchday could see us fall below the line.

 

Indeed I notice that ten of the bottom eleven play each other this weekend. Only Bmouth are the odds ones out (with a nice trip to the Etihad).

Yep, gone about things in a good way. Feel guilty hoping they lose each week, but things are getting tight.

 

I hope we go back to tradition wingers for this. We seemed to be going that way but then last couple of games due to rotation and injury we haven't used them.

Last 6 games we've used traditional wingers (prowse or redmond on the right) 3 times and got 5/9 points. Without we've got 0/9 points.

I know a lot of people want to see two strikers but I would rather go back to what was working.

Edit: i just realised prowse was a RWB rather than a winger against Arsenal and I'm just being biased. Still, it's what I want to see
