The Terriers tails msut be up after that 4-1 win at Watford. I see a bit of a dogfight emerging and the winners will be the ones with more bite in the tackle.

PS: It better not be a bit of a dog's dinner!! That would be a b****!

I did it too but my coin rolled right off the table and I can't find it anymore. It seems to be well and truly lost. Is that an omen?

I did it too, and when my coin landed it split into 5 pieces, with 4 of them rolling onto my red placemat and 1 of them ending up on my blue one. Is this an omen?

I hate the phrase "must win", because I also want to reply with something along of "Why so? What exactly will happen if the win doesn't arrive? Immediate relegation? The end of the world?". A game can be huge, of massive importance, without being a must win.

But even for me, this is bordering on must win. (And for MP personally, and his Saints career, it surely is indeed must win for him, given what then follows)

It's bordering on a must win for MP and his job security, and would be good for us going into the next two league games.

Speaking of coins, I have been tossing for the last 2 minutes to get a larger sample size. It seems that Saints stand a 51% chance of victory and I stand at 2% chance of getting away with that gag.

I've seen a star in the east (probably not Yoshida), and there were three blokes on camels looking lost. I predict a new coming, with an unbelievably good outcome. Now if only we can get these shepherds to play as a flat back four, and concentrate on moving up in line to get the opposition offside.<whistle><whistle>

For what it's worth, 2-0 Saints

Imagine Bertrand will not play - even if he's only partly fit MP2 will rest him with the schedule of games coming up

You could have photoshopped in 6 games so at least we'd have a 'W' in there :)

When we thrashed out of sorts and doomed Aston Villa 1-1 the last time we played them, I was chatting to some Villa fans on the way home. One of them told me in that wonderfully mournful way of Villa fans that he "dreamed of mid-table mediocrity". I now understand this ambition.

Lose this and we might as well pack it in. This is not being bitchy about the terriers by the way, just stating the bleedin' obvious that there are some teams we need to beat to stay in this division and Huddersfield is one of those.

3-0, I say confidently. So probably 1-1 with a late goal from Ward-Prowse to send us all home for Christmas enjoying the fact that we salvaged a point.

No such thing as must win, must win means nothing. This is almost a must win though. Except for MP2, definately a must win for him.

    Brilliant. Best post ever.

I watched their last game and they played like a team with everything to lose. They were physical but not much else I saw worried me. The scoreline reflected some piss poor officiating and a lack of discipline from the opposition who allowed Hudds to get under their skin. If we can find the motivation to win we will win this. Can't be letting them knock us about and rough it up.

But a big green W would ruin my red white and gold colour scheme !

Saints have been so considerate unlike those blasted Terriers <grr>

It's "must win" if we want to avoid the possibility of being without a manager and either in or desperately close to the relegation zone on January 1st, if nothing else. Not an irrecoverable position, but one with a lot of danger.

Define desperately close. Luckily there seem to be a number of teams battling it out for those bottom 3 places. Feels a bit like last season when, no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't lose 8th place as the teams below us refused to win. Not sure can rely on this as a long term strategy.

I blame our sponsors for our woes.
Ever since Virgin came along we’ve lacked penetration, although we’ve not been averse to letting a few in the back door.
