No doubt it was seen but clearly not seen fully. It's all down to how the ref reports it now. It was certainly not an off the ball incident.

Despite the goal i thought that was a really poor first half. Lucky Huddersfield playing equally as poor.

 

After a scrappy start that’s a good half of football from Saints. Saw both the good and bad in Charlie Austin though.

 

I’m taking the Wenger approach to Charlie, mainly because I really did not see it.

 

What did Austin actually do? I'm at the wrong side of the pitch

 

In real time it didn't look that bad. After 27 replays it looked pretty awful, but I don't even think there was much contact tbh.

 

Caught him on the nose with his boot....was it deliberate? Only he will know that.

 

Yep. We need to at least wait till the end of the game before stringing up from a lamp post.

 

If this is a good half of football then you really have minute expectations of this side. It was mainly a pretty poor half with a couple of glimpses of good football.

 

Keeper gets possession of the ball, Austin has plenty of time to jump/pull out of the tackle but decides instead to delay the step of his right leg to kick the keeper in the face. In my opinion it looked completely intentional by Austin.

 

Caught the keeper's head a glancing blow with the outside of his foot as he ran past. Could have jumped over or pulled out, but he just kept running.

Compared to some of the **** we’ve played this season this is good.

 

I didn't see it but he's being slated by the beeb etc. for leaving his foot in and catching his nose. Most on there seem to think it was deliberate, like I say though I didn't see it!

 

I think that was his point!

 

Dunno how you can say it was completely intentional. You could say he didn't do enough to avoid contact, but that's not the same thing.
