    This is all very negative.
I see some brilliance in our build up play.
We are like Man City without the passing and goals

Nope, I already put tadic on the left during training and he was still useless so I dropped him from the left and brought on McQueen.

Then more than likely we'll do one for them.
Ps. I hope with me raising this possibility, it will have killed off that potential turn of fate. Yep, that's how I work :bandit:

They’d be mad to appeal, he was bang to rights diving.

A difficult team to pick for this one as so many were poor last weekend. For me the only ones to deserve to keep their place are Cedric, Hooedt and Davis. Maybe Romeu too. Trouble is they all look good in training. Long failed to beat Mignolet on Saturday because he came off his line. That NEVER happens in training apparently...

That said, Long's work rate earns him a place on the pitch. He never gives less than 100% - and it's hard to single him out for the failure to hit the back of the net.

I would definitely drop VVD though.

We'd just lost to Sheffield Utd in the League Cup with one of the most lack-lustre performances I'd ever seen (and I've seen a few I can tell you!). Had I not been a season ticket holder I wouldn't have travelled, but it was incredible. Seem to remember Lukaku scored an own goal and Harry Reed looked like Paul Scholes.

So let's have less negativity. It won't stop us being **** at the weekend, but we can at least pretend for a few days!

The reason we can't win any more is because of the centre backs (have I mentioned this before?). We now have to have at least one, possibly two and preferably 3 excellent defensive midfield players "protecting the centre backs". What do they need protecting for? They're supposed to be the defenders! Now all they do is head out a few corners (which our strikers could do) and collect the ball once our defensive midfielders have made a tackle (and then pass it sideways). I'm fairly sure midfielders are supposed to be the link to the forwards? and I don't remember Bobby Moore going "ooh ooh Pele is running forwards I hope a midfielder tackles him!" ****ing centre backs! (my views are in no way influenced by the fact that I wanted to play centre back for my school in the 74/75 season and I only ever played 10 minutes as a substitute on the wing and never touched the ball) :)

As long as he plays at the weekend, then that is a price they are willing to pay. 6pointer.

I took a neutral to the game on Saturday and they (almost) immediately pointed out that our keeper never came off his line. Mignolet by comparison spent extensive periods of the game acting as a sweeper taking the pressure OFF the centre backs. So that's why our centre backs need protection - they don't get it from behind them as other teams do.

Spin back two years and we had Romeu dropping into a 3 x centre back line when we were in posssession. This allowed Targett and Cedric to storm forward down the wings, overlap and allow more of the midfield / forward line to get in the box.
