Well that was ok wasn't it? Looks like things are really starting to click and it was important that we never lost in this run to break the momentum. The mood at Staplewood must be buoyant these days and long may it continue. All we can do is keep the pressure on and not lose in the matches against our direct rivals and they will drop points when they play each other of course. I had a warm, fuzzy feeling leaving the ground today (despite the cold!) which I haven't felt for a few years and it was so good to see the fringe players contribute so well after they came on. Just a word for Manning, he has taken time to settle in but if he can keep up that standard then it will hopefully get the fans off of his back.
Give him his due, he's earning the praise, some of it begrudgingly, with the "he was OK but" phrase being heard.
To an extent, yes. I agree that it is too early to read too much into results week in week out, but it is pretty clear that the quality this season means expectations need to be raised in terms of what is a good or bad result. Very confident that whoever doesn't go up out of us, Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich will do so with a record points total for a non-promoted side.
Also, I want to clarify that I'm not moaning about recent results! Just pointing out that in recent seasons this form would have us running away with it, whereas this season we are still 4th. Mind you, if we keep this up until end of the season then we will win the league - tough ask though.
Happy with 4th. As long as we stay right on the shoulder of those above us I'm happy because, for all the top teams at present, they will have a bumpy time at some point and points gaps will close and it will get nervy but we look as though we can manage such issues.
Yes, Manning played well today. I`ve been one of his critics - lets see him back it up in the next couple of games.
A superb all round performance, can't fault a single player, passing, interceptions, first to 2nd balls, the intent, the creativity. We look a proper team. And for such a cold day, the atmosphere was brilliant COYR
Armstrong playing with so much confidence, he looks great in the championship. You wonder why he couldn’t do anything in the PL. And Bazunu comes out far to make a brave 50/50 tackle, risking injury to himself and the opponent. He has balls. I like balls.
If we carry on our form from the last 19 games for the rest of the season we will finish on 89 points. If we carry on our form from the last 11 games for the rest of the season we will finish on 103 points
Cardiff were 9th going into yesterday's game, and their RB Perry Ng is considered one of the best in the division.
Have to give a thumbs up to RM. Apart from the result yesterday, i saw some real passion and aggression from him. Loved that after the final whistle and the usual 3 fist pumps at the Northern, that he goaded the remaining Cardiff fans. With his past roots, he obviously took a bit of stick from them and he clearly paid it back, making a point of gesturing and over celebrating in their direction. Nice one RM.
And the record for most points without promotion is... 89! Brighton in 2016, finished level with 2nd placed boro.
