Though that "defending" by smallbone for the goal was pathetic. Overall we played alright I thought. Please for ross Stewart
Not bad performance considering the reserve and back up player who did well, but so frustrating when you're losing the last game and we are going backwards and sideways. That has to change next season.
Congratulations chaps. We made it through the worst/dullest season I can remember ( and I am 55). We are so bad, going to matches is a no/no, tuning in on radio is an after thought. Enjoy the summer and let's hope next season can bring us some joy. It seriously has to be better than this
I feel relief. As I said yesterday, I felt no envy over Sunderland's victory at Wembley, however good that day was. Maybe, just maybe I will start enjoying watching football again.
Thank **** that season is over. The only high point for me has been visiting this forum; shared experience, gallows humour, cheese and fish puns galore. Love it here.
That has to be worst season in my memory and I’ve supported Saints for a very long time. We aren’t the worst in PL history for points, but did we break the negative GD record ?
Yep, new beginnings, however bad this season has been it was much worse 16 years ago. I'm already looking forward to next season after an interesting and productive summer transfer window hopefully. I feel that the play-offs are likely again but who knows? we may get off to a flier and it all slots together. I do think that we should give this manager time even if we fail to go up. We need to have an identity and some consistency and stability and build something strong. This is the Spors era and I believe that we will get back to being a top 10 PL sometime in the future.
Was Will Still in the stadium with a signed contract at the end? As we have finally reached the end of the worst season I can recall from 1956 until today, just a word of thanks to all you contributors for keeping the spirit of Saints alive with humour, the necessary moan, the amazing resilience we have to cultivate and making football seem worth following even if the ‘football’ we’ve paid to endure this year hasn’t been what most of us describe as the great spectacle we’d hoped for. Let’s all now watch with patience as hopefully a rebuild gets underway!!
Just got in. Probably one of the better performances of the season that, easily top 3 I reckon? Was a bit disappointed we sat back so quickly after equalising though as we'd started the second half so well and thought they were a bit rattled. The winner pissed me off purely cos of the diabolical free kick decision given immediately before. That's two games in a row where an absolutely shocking foul has been given in that corner. Delighted for Stewart getting a goal as he's done well since coming in and this has to be his longest spell of being fit since he got here? Still wouldn't be relying on him for next season but it would be massive for us if he did stay fit. Thought Robinson looked very bright and he'll be an asset for next season in a much needed position. Needs to spend the summer in the gym though but that's no biggie for his age. Was surprised at how much applause the players got on the lap of appreciation. Very few of us booing though the empty stands clearly speak for themselves. Matty looked quite embarrassed when his song was sung which I took to mean he's definitely off. Final things: Thank **** that's over **** VAR UTFS
Today was one of our best efforts this season and perversely I came out of that feeling a bit of encouragement for next season. That being said, am I actually hearing correctly that they did a lap of ‘honour’? The absolute balls on these ****houses
