No Arteta, no Wilshire, no Ramsey, no Özil, no Welbeck, no Cambell, no Podolski, no Diaby and Giroud suspended. Why are we always missing half our team? Where lies the blame?
Absolute **** from our defence. We basically handed them both of those goals and threw the game away. The decision not to send off the Soton defender when Sanchez was clean through was also ****, but ultimately wouldn't have changed the game, other than that and the Santi chance, we looked toothless going forward. Really disappointed with this result and performance. We were starting to build some momentum again and we've chucked it away in calamitous style. We can only hope that the Chavs smash the Spuds now because there will be no living with those ****s if they get a result against Mourinho and move above us.
I can't remember the last time we fielded an 'organised solid looking team'. The fact we don't ever change tactically to match our opposition makes us incredibly predictable and easy to play against.
That 2nd half performance is one of our worst this season. Especially from a defensive point of view. Absolutely woeful. You really do have to question just WHAT Steve Bould is paid to do at Arsenal? We certainly haven't improved defensively since he took over from Pat Rice. Oh well, happy new year everyone...
Can't complain about Giroud, he let everybody down, though I'm sure even if he played today he would have put in one of those classic useless away performances.
**** TY, the guy's an imbecile, he won't even stick to his own propaganda criteria. According to TY 2-2 at Liverpool is positive because we got smashed 5-1 last time we played them....Well last time we played Soton away from home last season it was 2-2, yet this time they beat us easily 2-0, will the ****er follow on his own logic? Doubtful, he will come out with some positive spin job drivel.
To even THINK about competing for the league, we need: - a TOP TOP keeper, pushing Sczez to the bench - a PHYSICAL defender who knows when to just clear the bloody ball and one that won't duck out of aerial challenges - an ATHLETIC, DISCIPLINED defensive midfielder who enjoys the dirtier, more physical side of the game We lack a spine at the moment. We are getting by on sheer talent (Sanchez/Cazorla) and luck alone. There's no tactical nous or gameplan evident.
We need a GK We need a new CB We need a new DMF AND we need a new striker, you're not going to conquer the league and Europe with Giroud-Welbeck, hopefully the Cavani rumours have merit to them. Cavani+Bender+Chech+Solid Defender+Reus or Draxler and then we can start talking about becoming an elite team again.
As for the fan incident, I don't think it was an Arsenal fan, the fan looked playful, plus how would an Arsenal fan all the way from the away end manage to get to that area of the pitch, AND coming from the right side when he should have been coming from the left side if indeed he did come from the away end. Bould's reaction though was funny.
I would take Wanyama at Arsenal. __________________________________- That's nice, but I think he wants Champions League footy. Deal breaker.
Yet again we lose to a team above us. Had thought we were gaining a little momentum over last few games but just hit the buffers again. Can't wait to hear AW's reasoning for today. Probably "overall bulls**t"
