It looked terrific. There was a match on over the weekend, can't remember who, where the ground had been mown in a set of very long sided triangles at shallow angles to the pitch. It must have made the linesman's job a real challenge. I suspect that's the kind of thing that's led to the rule change. Vin
Are they not aware that recent research has shown that parallel lines and stripes can give you a migraine which is why you see so many fans at Saints games lent forwards with their head in their hands.
What we need is a pattern featuring a gigantic arrow with the tip pointing to the centre of the goal line.

The trouble with relegated teams is that the little swines do seem to find a second wind when they have nothing to lose.
What's crap? You're quoting a statement which has nothing to do with what you're saying. I said they are probably the worst Arsenal team that visited Southampton since our last defeat from them (2003.). You know of a worse one? They're playing with five defenders (and mediocre ones at that) and two not very impressive midfielders. Just because they have a world class player in Sanchez doesn't make them a great team. They haven't been poorer for a good while and their results this season confirm that. Why, they had 5 defeats in their last 6 league away matches prior to yesterday's match.
So, wasn't the best of games. The players don't seem help each other at times with movement. Our defence and midfield were quite deep at times, even when we had the ball around the area. Best moment of the night, the family behind think Forster is thick, and 30s behind time thickness. It was really ironic.
The first Arsenal goal was the kind of goal I dream of seeing from a Saints player. Superb dummy and turn, with a decent finish. The second goal was something that I imagine all teams spend hours practicing on the training ground. Simplicity itself. Just glad we didn't get to gung-ho and ship another goal or two.
There was something positive in the crowd's reaction last night. After the people had left who couldn't wait to get out of the ground, the remaining fans started a long rendition of the fast version of OWTSGMI until the players finally left the pitch. Pleasant after the boos. Vin
Angry people are noisier and can sometimes suggest that they are the majority...that is where opinion polls sometimes get things wrong. Not that I am suggesting that the ones who don't boo are necessarily more happy, but they just don't see the point in booing. Glad that some sang OWTS to show support for the club.
The Chapel were in good voice around kick off time and had a good rhythm going with those cardboard clapper things but I think they got bored of it afterwards.
