Allardyce is not the answer to our problems. I would rather watch Saints playing in the Championship than have that gum chewing dinosaur as our manager.
Sorry back on, can’t keep away. That’s pushing it. Know where you’re coming from but surely players have their part to play?
And I'd agree if we didn't have that fraud of an owner in charge. When we go down to the championship, I really worry there'll be a repeat of the administration years. I think going down could kill the club. I'd take Allardyce if it meant Gao could sell up
Firstly, I don’t think we are any better than we were pre-Leicester. We beat two teams below us (only just), but we are cruising for another proverbial bruising. Soon as we play a top 4 team we are getting spanked. Secondly it isn’t dreamland at all to assume another manager could do better.
I think if we go down, we stand a strong chance of crashing through that league in the wrong direction. Still don’t want Sam. Anyway, why would we go for Sam when Pochettino and Ancelotti are available?
This makes no sense. Ings is great because he’s scoring but it’s nothing to do with Ralph. Literally nobody else can get a goal but that’s all Ralph’s fault.
Feck me Tom, that’s like asking me if I want red house bricks or yellow house bricks to break my balls with.
The team line up tonight was arguably our best line up (possibly Boufal if fit). Any changes to that is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic Ralph has tried 5, 3 and 4 at the back with just about every combination you can think of and none have worked so that only indicates the pretty much all our defenders aren’t good enough for this league. As said earlier in the thread, we have been saying the same thing since Puel pissed Fonte off and Hoedt, Vestergaard, Danso etc are simply not good enough leaving with a fast deteriating Yoshie, Stephens has never been good enough and a Bednarek who is pretty good but too slow for the EPL
It is dreamland if you can’t support the case with evidence. Look at the last 3 seasons with this squad of players and where we have gone so glaringly and obviously wrong. There’s literally one new face in the starting 11 and he’s a faint ray of hope. We have tried what you are arguing for over and over and it hasn’t helped. Football is so stupid. Things aren’t going well so you replace the manager with a guy who just got fired for the very same thing.
No one knows if Gao is, or isn't, a fraud. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until it is a proven fact. We are not relegated and may not be relegated. There are still over 20 games yet to be played so although we don't look good, in fact we look bloody awful, I will hold off from making wild predictions. Administration? Why would that happen? Plenty of teams get relegated, sort themselves out, rebuild and fight for promotion again.
Tom, with all due respect, performances mean **** all. I'm fed up of hearing that performances were there, it's something to build on etc etc. Its getting tiresome as week after week we dont learn from our mistakes and come away with nothing.
Agree but I’m thinking replace ruthless with good? I want him to be but whether it’s the Robles affect or what but Ralph’s show this year has been pretty pants.
Not saying every time we play a decent team we’ll get spanked. But another thrashing is coming. Btw your recent predictions were (iirc): 1. Sheff Utd are getting worse and going down. Since then they have won two games and are in 5th place. 2. Saints will finish above Bournemouth. Today; Chelsea 0 Bompey 1 Pardon me if I don’t agree with you that Ralph is the man to fix our problems.
Ah well, at least one local team that play in red and white stripes made club history today. Well done Sholing FC for qualifying for the first round proper of the FA Trophy for the very first time with a great away win at Paulton Rovers. #uptheboatmen
