I’ve got my mate’s ticket, so was thinking of popping into the Guide Dog on the way to the ground. Will anyone be there or have you found another place to frequent these days? Word of warning ..... I’m pretty sure the last PL game I went to was Stoke in May last year and we all remember how that turned out ....
Hughes will be asked questions about Les Reed's departure which he will not be able to answer. Bet he's not looking forward to this.
It's easy enough for him; he has every right to refuse those questions and say he prefers to talk about matters on the pitch. Then again...
I'm sure the reporters will have been told to avoid such questions and I'm sure Mark will dodge questions not about the weekend's match, but won't stop the press raising it again and again and hope for a different answer.
Were I him, I'd not even bother with a pre match talk. I'd just walk into the dressing room, and hit play on the DVD showing that disgusting handball against us. Then walk out. Uttering the words; '**** them up lads, we owe them big time. No fines for anyone getting sent off.' Lets get angry, but not with ourselves for a change.
Hughes always handles himself well in press conferences. Obviously sad for Les but accepts it calmly as something that happens in football. Doesn't seem to consider himself under any danger....and certainly not more so just because Reed has left. Has respect For Reed as a footballing person. Hoedt a doubt with an infected foot (ouch) and Lemina a minor doubt. Trained at SMS just to switch things around. Team were angry at the beginning of the week.
Mark's seat at the press conference was empty for so long I was beginning to think they couldn't find anyone still in the building. Reminded me of Nige's first press conference and someone asked him what difference he'd noticed being in the Premier league. Better chairs, he replied.
Maybe they forgot to tell Mark that the news conference was at St Marys and not the usual Staplewood! The team practiced at St Marys in order to get an idea where the goalposts really are.
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018...pton-train-at-st-marys-ahead-of-watford-clash I notice Valery and Vokins are in the mix.
Can you hope for a home goal? I think it may help being more specific. The Bitch Fairy football god seems a bastard of epic proportions lately.
