Its gutting to concede after scoring so late. Still top and 4 points clear from 3rd so we should still be positive. If we win the next two then things will be looking really rosy again.

The Reading match is looking massive in the race for first.

Better tell Norwich that you've got their manager

Rather than picking on one player; there were some very average performances this afternoon...

Yes Hammond, Lambert etc etc were average. But Guly was beyond crap. So infact his performance stood out of just how **** he was today.

Do not share this 'drawing a blue line and moving on... etc' we have underperformed the past two weeks and conceded 5 goals in our last two games. l think all the games are now massive; we dropped 5 pts in a week, when we should have collected an away draw and a home win.

We weren't at our absolute best (but in a derby, that is often to be expected), but we still played well. Certainly a lot better than the people who got into contact with Solent after the game were making out. One even said Adkins Out!!

Ordinarily, I'd have accepted today. We were the better team, we didn't lose to our rivals, and we were just hit by two absolute screamers. To both of those goals, I've just put my hands up and said well played. However, this isn't an ordinary position. We're in a promotion fight, and it's far from certain that we'll go up. We could easily end up regreting these two dropped points. I personally think we now need to beat Palace if we're to have any chance. If we don't, then I'm certain that we'd have to finish with four straight wins - and unfortunately, I just don't see us doing that. Hence, for me, Palace is must win.

Two special goals and Ashdowns heroics, point deserved. Voldermort is a gentleman, said our second was legit, ball came off of Varney to Sharp, can you imagine Ferguson or Wenger admitting a thing like that?

You're still going down. A derby is one thing, and derbies are special matches, but I think that League One football beckons for you next season and well-deserved, too. Still, L1 ain't that bad.
Sour grapes? Yes, a little. I'm not too proud to admit that that last minute sickener hurt.

Maybe Adkins should play in his proper position; central attacking midfielder and played a proper right winger like De Ridder from the kick-off. TBH BD I am more underwhelmed in the past two matches with Adkins than l am by any player.

I've been saying that for ages, Guly is never a right mid.

Really enjoyed the game today, the best atmosphere I have ever seen inside SMS and was brilliant being in the Itchen North today!

Well said, personally I think our midfield has been over-run of by-passed a bit like at Christmas, the early substitution didn't help.

I reiterate, I am not saying Guly was at his best today but too often do people complain unjustly that he is lazy. Guly has contributed 11 goals and a number of crucial assists, such as against Reading. Lambert has been well marshalled in the last few games yet no one gets on his back, is he lazy for holding position instead of mindlessly tearing around the pitch. We should not be picking on our own players when we need them to perform and our striking and midfield options are depleted. De Ridder has his qualities too but defensively he is weak which is why he rarely starts.

Just back from the game with a mug of tea in hand. Was very disappointed walking away but having seen the goals Pompey scored again, I guess that they deserved something from the game. Hopefully a point is enough for us, but it may not be enough for them.

Spot on St_brendy; we really needed those 3pts today and now we have to win at Palace. On current form; its a big ask. l just hope Adkins drops the diamond formation. Need Morgan back too; he looked in real trouble with his knee. Anybody hear news on him?

Adkins said it looks a bad one, and that he'll be out for Monday.

If he's out for the season, as I fear he is, then we really need Chaplow to finally step back up to the plate. We'd do well do get through five straight games with just Hammond and Cork, especially considering that they all come thick and fast.

Hi Brendy, which did you enjoy more today, the test match or the derby?

Personally I think you are still nailed on for promotion.

Peterboro have drawn level, so I'm feeling quite optimistic atm. Pompey have achieved a major result today. Few teams have come away from St Mary's with anything this season.

BD; we have struggled at right wing all season; l don't want to start the old debate over Oxo-C and was he right/wrong to go; but can you imagine how many points clear we would be if he had stayed? I cannot help but feel that had he stayed his goals and assists would have given us at least a handful of points more than we already have...

Possibly but I would have put Barney on, like for like, Harding didn't have a role other than to be a nuisance.

As good a game as it was, the test match victory wins hands down. Like I say, whilst I'd have ordinarily taken the outcome of the derby today, the fact that it's two points in our promotion quest does make it a poor day at the office. Not a bad day, but still a poor day.
