Nope, going to agree with OTB. This game does have goals written all over it, and there will be IMO. From Saints, of course. I reckon Peterboro's goal difference is going to take a right pounding. Be scared for them..! please log in to view this image
Any Saints win will do but I have to stop myself thinking every game is a league breaker. Win against West Ham and we're the real deal, then it was Boro. Now I'm thinking we have to beat lower sides like Peterborough or the world will end. Another performance like Saturday, please.
Can't be there folks tonight will someone give an extra Guuuly...... Guuuly...... Guuuly..... shout for me. He plays better when he hears me shout it........Cheers BT
I will be shouting Guuuly...Guuuly...Guuuly at the radio and enjoying Dave Merrington's bon-mots and words of wisdom.
It's like this for me.. 'For f**ks sake Guly, what are you doing??!.... ....Ohhh Guuuuly! What an amazing goal, LEGEND! Pure class!' Such is the inconsistency! He could do 10 bad things and then just 1 good thing, but that 1 good thing is often results in a goal!
I know he was a different class altogether, but we used to forgive Le Tiss anything. And we seem to forgive Lallana when he messes up.
I see Ferguson is still being his usual bullish self.....http://www.bournelocal.co.uk/sport/football/posh_we_can_shock_southampton_ferguson_1_3200871 The commenting Posh fans don't seem so confident....Come On Saints...no slip ups
It shows how far we've come that it is now regarded as a shock that Peterborough could beat us. I love the humour of the Boro fans, especially the one who says they'd only shock Saints if they turned up naked. And the one who said that when asked to comment on Ferguson's suggestion that he'd beat Saints, no Southampton spokesman could be found to comment as they couldn't stop laughing long enough to speak. All joking aside, any side can beat someone on their day, so we'll trust NA to keep the team focused.
Whilst I don't shout out your first two lines (but that's just me - I also never blamed Puncheon when his stuff didn't come off for example), there is no doubting that you're a 100% correct with your third line. But even at this level, I think you can still afford to play someone who is that inconsistent. If he can do something brilliant which results in a goal (be it an assist, the goal itself, or just something major within the build-up to the goal), say once every other game, then he's worth his place for me. It'll be very different at the next level up, and so were we to get promoted and were his inconsistencies to remain, then we really would have to look at the situation and probably bring someone else into the building. But yeah, like I say, at this level I can accept his inconsistency and I think it does us more good than harm.
Guly loses his concentration quite easily and does something silly, this gets Adkins off the bench onto the sideline screaming at him. He needs constant encouragement from the masterful trio just so he doesn't get lazy.
Love the way Adkins is said to be so calm..never too high, never too low..but then you get shots of him screaming on the touchline, just like all managers.
