logically it will be our 'best start' right up to 23 games. Then it will become our 'best finish'. Arguable the current moment could be the beginning of 'midseason'. lol A bit like how far can you 'go into' the woods before you are actually 'going out of' the woods.
I was a bit deflated (?) after last night's game. Yes we won but the 2nd half was frustrating to say the least. Typical Saints making it harder then it needs to be I suppose! I missed the first goal we were that late to the game, and just got in for the 2nd. After Jos' goal, I thought like everybody else that we'd push on and get 3/4/5. The sending off didn't necessarily change the game but it allowed Peterborough to sit back even more and try and nick something on the break, something they did out of the blue in the 2nd half. Disappointed with the goal because we needlessly switched off. I would presume Guly was taken off because of his knock on Saturday, but I think that De Ridder was introduced out of complacency tbh, and that's my only and very rare criticism of Adkins, that maybe he thought the job was done a bit too early last night. Hey ho, we won in the end, but I hope the 2 or 3 changes wont occur in every new game, especially once we find our true rhythm like we did against Middlesbrough. A real shame we beat Darren Ferguson....NOT. Can't stand the bloke and delighted for Chappers to stick one in and put in another great performance to prove him wrong YET AGAIN. If Fergie Jnr had played Sinclair from the 1st whistle, I think we'd have had more problems than we did. 19 consecutive home wins though, onwards and upwards and very hopeful about getting a win against what I regard as a poor Coventry side.
A pundit on Sky who had watched the Saints game was asked who would be promoted. He said there were lots of good teams and suggested West Ham, Derby and Crystal palace. The interviewer said, 'What about Southampton?' He replied, 'Sorry, I thought you meant who would go up with Southampton.' Loved it!
