I share your concern about grass root football Jasper, but I think that's a slightly different argument. The formation of the PL was very much about greed, stifling the share out of money across the four divisions and that's why there is this huge disparity between it (PL) and the lower leagues.
But the influx of wealth to City for eg just buys success and the bad mouthing is in my opinion a tactic used by the once successful clubs (Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton even Man U to a degree) who don't get things all their own way anymore.

True , but that's where all this FFP is bollox . Perhaps we would all be better off if the likes of The Manchester , Liverpool & top London clubs went and joined the top clubs from Italy & Span , Germany and be done with it ?

With the proviso that WHEN the bubble bursts ( and it WIIL ) they start again as non league outfits <whistle>

I was surprised when I read about how teams like Man City avoid FFP.

Pay the player 50 grand a week.

Then set up an ambassador role for one the football clubs sponsors... for 500 grand a week.

Just watched that again, and I think you're wrong fats. Wes got as tight as he could without committing a foul, and did just enough to put Abraham off.

Abraham was a bit of a handful when he came on - Hoedt kept him under wraps and cut out the long pass to him a couple of times.

I've been very encouraged by Bednarek recently. Fair play to him, he came in at a tough time and really stepped up and played a part in our mini run.

He has looked good the last couple of games. I do however thank that he has very little pace.fast players leave him for dead

Would like Bednarek to play a greater role next season for sure.

He's faster then Fonte was. Obviously Fonte had more about him when it came to positioning etc, but that will come from playing and gaining experience.

Not necessarily that, he's still very young and a cb would be top of the list for the Summer.

I agree, I had never seen him play, before his 1st team debut but a few mates had watched him and the feedback was not good, but I've been really impressed with him. Never easy for a young player to come into a struggling defence, but to slot straight into a team in such a prerilous position deserves great credit?
Looking forward to seeing how he developes next season.

Pace for a CB just doesnt matter. As long as they can read the game, a strong and have good positioning it doesnt matter.

The best premier league CBs in the past 15 year I would say are Vidic and Kompany; neither of which had anything pacey about them.

Think people may have been playing a little too much Fifa!

Absolutely. I’m not crucifying them and we definitely need a solid leader/CB this summer.

We’ll disagree then because I watched it a few times after and there is no way a CB can let a CF do that. The CF didn’t even have to do anything to hold him off, with strength or anything. Watch other games and see what happens when our strikers have a ball Corning to them like that anywhere on the pitch and same with opposing strikers. Our strikers don’t get a chance. It’s been like that all season.

A coach watching that on a video the next day should be showing him how bad it was.

I don’t think we have the team to do that. Definitely need to push them & attack but MH has a difficult job in gauging how much.

I watched him in the tournament over the summer for Poland U21s?? and was horrified, but he’s done really well since he’s come in. Good prospect.
