Our record is bad vs the top six this year, but the scorelines aren't too terrible. Other than the 5-2 against Spurs and 3-0 to Liverpool, the games have been quite tight.

United - 1-0 loss and 0-0 draw
Arsenal - 1-1 draw and 3-2 loss
Chelsea - 1-0 loss and 3-2 loss
Liverpool - 3-0 loss and 2-0 loss
Spurs - 5-2 loss and 1-1 draw
City - 2-1 loss and TBC

There are eight losses, but five of those were decided by just one goal. Then there's been three draws, two at home, one away.

Stoke players aren't going to want to finish their Premiership careers with an 8-0 defeat. It really wouldn't help their move on / stay at the club chances.

I just want it all to be over now. After the last 5 days I'm totally knackered, sore of voice, sick of sitting on trains and desperate to do something else that doesn't shred my nerves or encourage me to drink so much!

Man City have been free scoring this season, and it's unlikely that we'll come out of this game with much to show for it. If we're lucky most of their players will be saving themselves for the World Cup, and won't want to risk getting an injury.

My only concern is shenanigans by Stoke deliberately contriving to lose by a hatful just to spite Hughes. I don't think that's likely to happen, as Butland will want to push for the case for going to Russia.

The buzz has died down a bit now and the nerves are kicking in that somehow the worst could happen on Sunday. I'm pretty sure that any neutral would see Swansea going down as a formality now but whilst there is still a chance, I can't relax. Doesn't help that we are playing the highest scorers in PL history!

Really? I'm in total agreement in that I'm skeptical about Hoedt, but I thought Tuesday was actually one of his better efforts.

I’m not a fan of Wes.
I think he is quite slow, especially over the first ten yards, which is why I am not looking forward to the likes of Sterling spinning around him onto a through ball from any number of their players.
He also seems very uncoordinated, and to use a comment often aimed at goal keepers, he doesn’t move his feet very well/quickly to clear balls that come at him quickly, causing miskicks or air kicks.
I think we need an upgrade in the summer.

 

He’s 2 months younger than Jack Stephens and will only improve as he gets older. He’ll be fine.

 

Man City represent all that is bad about the premier league and football these days.
Pure cash club fuelled by 'mystery middle eastern' money the background of which we know nothing about.
For all the the success of the club they still struggle to fill their stadium!
