    --------------------McCarthy ------------------
    --Bert- Hoedt- Stephens- Yoshi-Jan--
    McQueen-----------Romeu------------Cedric
    -------------------------Ralph---------------------
    ------------------------JWP---------------------------
Back 7 with Berty as a CB to hold the line.

JWP up front to negotiate the terms of our surrender, with Ralph behind him giving a long winded speech about the dangers of injury before the world cup in order to sap their energy and will to fight.

Romeu in the middle as our enforcer to dissuade any city players from crossing the half way line, henceforth known as the The Demilitarized Zone.

All players must have boots with blades attached. With subs having longer more deadly ones ready to come on.

If all else fails we get enough reds to forfeit the game with a 3 nil defeat and lots of city players missing the world cup due to maiming or death .:emoticon-0148-yes:

Think we need to put in a couple hard but fair tackles early on. Keep a defensive shape & discipline, work hard & press, then save celebrations and back slaps for the final whistle.

In all seriousness though I,d like to See some youth of the bench for when it's obvious we have nothing left to play for. Maybe Sims hesketh and obafemi can be brought on.

Think a couple of hard tackles from Romeu in the first 5 minutes will hopefully make their players think, as virtually their whole squads next game will be getting ready for the World Cup.

Yep, but controlled tackles is a must. Just imagine going down to ten early on.......

I'd definitely have Sims as the pace option, especially if we're playing 3 CBs and 3 DMs and hoping for a counter.

    BBC gave him motm.
I like him, but, there's mistakes in him. Needs to calm done and concentrate far more. Maybe without the pressure of a rele battle we'd start to see the Dutch international he aspires to be.

The first game I took my wife to was Leeds United in the Championship. We were winning 3-0 and it could have been 6 but Leeds scored just before half time and I said, that’s it we’ve lost. Which she thought was ridiculous, but this is Saints, right? We lost 4-3. I just have that horrible feeling........So please, lots of optimistic posts to keep me going to Sunday.

Hoedt usually reminds me of Bramble, looks very good for 89 minutes of the game but is prone to one huge **** up that leads to a goal which in turn makes him a poor centre back. I'd be interested to see what he would be like with a good commanding partner next to him as I think he has the tools to be a very good centre back, just probably needs someone next to him to guide him.

I agree he was terrible on Tuesday though and hasn't looked great in the last few games, but I'd stick with him next year as with a better partner I can see him doing well.

I still think we need to be 100 % focussed. If any team can inflict serious goal deficit damage its City and dont count your chickens until they've hatched.

Phenonemanal team and support on Wednesday so I hope we can keep that intensity and finish the job off.

The only way to play City is to pressue their defence which is a slight weakness.
