Yeah, there's a quirk in the Not606 software. It occasionally shows ... instead of the picture you've just posted. It could happen to You, Me or anyone. I saw the photo when I posted it, but I see ... now as well. In your reply I see the photo. The Wonders of the Internet, eh..? BTW, what make is that steam driven computer of yours..?
Obviously not. What do you do when it is full up..? [I'm actually cringing slightly at the potential answer here]
AAAARRRGHHHH.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody take that computer away from her. She has no business using 21st century technology. Get yourself an abacus, a notepad and an HB pencil. Don't even use a biro. There's too much technology involved there.
I'll have you know that I am regarded as quite the techno whizz at work. They put all our HR stuff on line, forgetting that a staff consisting of mainly older women would no longer be able to check their rotas, wage slips or book their holidays. I held a masterclass for a group of them. It's not that people like me can't do it, but they can't be arsed. It will happen to you all...technology will change and, after a certain point, none of you will be bothered either.
How true is that!!!!!!? Since I was introduced to technology during my Navy days things have changed beyond belief. Keeping up with it, and on top of it, has been a night mare. Over the years they have changed the apps, and the programs themselves. My latest fight is with Microsoft windows 8. Nothing seems to be in the same place or there at all. Then they start talking about how many bits I had. How would I bloody know?...I don't take the thing apart to count them!!!!! Yea I know, I know.......they mean 132 bit or a 164 bit.....gee wiz
Yes I'm afraid what Fran siad is true. My two sons run rings around me now with IT. I thought I was up to speed a couple of years ago but it's all going over my head these days!
It moves too quick for companies as well. Mine took a couple of years to set up their HR system. By the time it went live, only old systems like mine could use it...anyone with iphones and tablets couldn't access it. They had to set up a pc at work for people to access it when it was intended for people to do from home.
To take the time to learn and adapt is an investment and if the effort does not bring at least an equal saving in time and effort it isn't worth it because the return is not there. My computer crashed on Sunday and this rather ancient person is now also struggling with Windows 8 on a replacement and trying to work out why people put so much junk on new computers. Why can't I buy a brand new computer with Vista installed and nothing else. I can then download all of my files and software and be back where I started and be perfectly happy. That surely is the function of retail - to make us happy. The trouble is computer manufacture and sales is geared to the young. The young salesman from whom I bought my computer kept trying to sell me top of the range computers which he kept describing as perfect for gaming. He looked at me in disbelief when I told him the only reason I wanted a computer was so that I could access not606!
Just been on the Blue Moon website....yes, I am that bored. Made interesting reading with comments such as: 'Dick Turpin would have been proud of us today', 'Southampton are murder to play at their ground', 'Glad they didn't play their first team', 'Like there were 13 of them on the pitch'. Have to say it seems that all the decent Manchester fans support the Blues.
Even a kid like me can't be arsed with tablets and Windows 8. A tablet is a big smartphone that doesn't do any phone stuff, and Windows 8 is a jumbled mess. Wonder if technology is already overtaking me.
