Hopefully, the translations are so boring. The pre game build up interview was nearly 9 minutes long when the question and answers given only actually took about 2 or 3 minutes.
The only ever time I left early was a wed eve match at the dell. We were 2-1 down with 5m to play and ended up winning 3-2. Never again!
Off on a tangent a bit but... I've seen some comments relating to Osvaldo's machine gun celebration, saying it is distasteful, vile, a poor example in front of children etc. I honestly hadn't given it a seconds thought at the time, or until I saw these comments. What do people think about it?
Completely harmless I'd say - no worse than Puncheon's 'toilet' celebration v Man City last season. Also Deulofeu did the same celebration as Oswaldo in today's game vs Arsenal, firing gun into crowd.
I have thought about it before. It's not exactly new. Robbie Keane used to fire off imaginary pistols, for instance. I always thought it was a play on machine gun/sharpshooter/goal machine or something like that. Whilst it is perhaps not the most high minded of celebrations, if footballers can only do things which are tasteful, then we'd better cut out fouling, spitting, snorting, being caught by the camera openly swearing at the referee, arguing with the referee/linesman/rival players [or in Ravel Morrison's case, own players] at any time, adjusting the equipment, protecting said equipment while standing in the wall, flinching while being shot at, making card gestures, etc, etc.., and that's just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, perhaps we ought to wrap football up altogether. In the face of all the potential negatives it carries, I reckon there's precious little it's got going for it. And I won't add a smiling smiley either because I want to try and keep a straight face.
Sounds like some people are being extremely oversensitive. It's not like kids don't know about guns. Kids have been playing with toy guns for generations. Power Rangers, Action Man, cowboys and Indians - guns everywhere.
As soon as I saw Osvaldo's celebration I wanted to go out and buy a gun immediately. People need to lighten up.
I don't really care what he does as long as he keeps on scoring. That said, I don't like it. I won't go as far as to say its distasteful but it is a bit weird, although maybe no more so than sliding on your knees for 20 yards. You wouldn't do that at Riverside Park, not if you wanted any knees left!
We all seem to see it differently, at the time, and also on the brief clips I have seen of the goal, the only other Saints player in the box was Adam Lallana, he at first showed annoyance that Oz had tried the shot, as he was in a great position, but on realisation that the ball had gone in, his attitude changed, just a little! It was a moment of brilliance, shame he (Oz) missed easier chances later, but why and how do we criticise? Because we are human and want more.
Not sure if anyone else posted. But Kompany said that the game against Saints felt like a top game, and that we were playing a top side. That's nice. You'll find it on news now further down a bit. Still can't work out how to bloody copy and past links on this phone!
