I don’t want to make too many changes but we definitely need to bear it in mind.

It’s a long shot but i want us to keep city on their toes until the final minute of the final game. Do not make it easy for those cheating c*nts

More or less, we can't risk injuries and a lot of the squad are knackered.

    its this simple lads.

GD doesn't matter unless we draw one and city lose one more.

Objective win this game while now destroying any CL hopes we have.

But the point of all this is to not be on the hump when city win it. Its already gone and out of our hands. getting it to the final day when there was a 14 point gap is superb so don't bash your head against a wall, rather be pleasantly shocked and delighted if city do draw and we do win 2.

    very simple.

View view on this game is simple: minutes played.

Alisson. not a massive deal to keep him in. unlike mendy (who got what he deserved) most keeprs dont actually get cramp.
    Gomez - RB. must start
Matip - played 30mins. must start
Konate - the risk. vvd played 90 but had a thing.
    Tsimikas - must start
Milner - played an hour max. must start
Jones - played no time at all
    Keita - only played 70mins
Jota - marginal call. played 90mins with extra time and 60mins in game.
    Origi - must start?
Firmino - only played a few minutes

the players we need to protect
Trent - already had one issue this season 120mins means a rest is wise
robertson - cramped up and must be protected now.
vvd- felt his knee. has not looked right in last two games so...
Henderson - only no 6 option for final. 120mins in legs having not done so in a while
    mane - 120mins in again
    salah- protect against himself.
    fabinho on the injury list
Thiago. clearly was just struggling through there and burning. must be protected. also went mad partying so...

I think we have enough to at least start the game with that 11 above and try play with good intensity and try win it. thaigo, mane and trent potentially could play 30mins? maybe?

Tbf Klopp will prob be told who can and can’t play from the fitness guys then they’ll pick best team from that. Without that info no idea what team will be

Firmino's the big one for me. He needs minutes to get match sharp, especially if it turns out we need him to start in the final.

We only need one man for the final.

I agree that is the case now.

Three players who all do best down the centre. It on the wings. It's possible Klopp.would play Firm centre and the other two on the wings but I would be very surprised if Klopp picks this trio.

Clean your boots off Bump, you'll probably be getting a call from Klopp later today. Start practicing your return hugs now.

Origi has regularly played on the left of a front 3 .

    Could pmay
So has Jota but not sure it's his best position.

Could play Ox on the right. I'm sure he'd get a warm reception from the Soton fans.

I believe he can play either wing... But all three players MIto mentioned as being rested forwards are all better played down the centre. (There again Mane is best on the wing but Klopp plays him in the centre regularly now)

It could work playing the three of them just far from an ideal Frontline. Firm would definitely be the only decent provider on the front row.

indeed, GD is a complete red herring here, and would have been even if City had lost yesterday. Last thing we want is another Crystanbul trying to get 7 or 8 when a win like against Villa would do. And I think had we won against Spurs, City would have won yesterday
it all comes down to winning our last two games and praying Villa can do us a very unlikely favour.

Not worth injuring, nor tiring players for CL final though - both Soton and Wolves ( like Villa) should be beatable with a scratch side - if we dont beat them, it wasnt meant to be.

dunno about scratch sides but there's a big enough squad there to roll out a team capable enough of playing Southampton and getting a win.

same as it was big enough every other week.

Newcastle game, milner and gomez started.. keita started, jota started, matip started. we faded in that game but did alright but we sat on the 1-0 and they could do little.

Against villa, tsimkas, jones, diaz at RW.

again we were not great but they are all tired.

Really this is a chance to get a team together and build off the fa cup win. we had to play the FA cup 5th round v norwich right after the league cup final celebrations and got by.

minamino and ox played then. nobody has mentioned them yet. Milner played RB that day.

    Alisson
    Milner Matip Gomez Tsimikas
    Ox Keita Jones
    minamino Jota origi

in theory theres loads of options.
