I'd haul can off here at HT. he's so off it its untrue.

stick in couts and just try going back to the old way.

firmino is nothing without coutinho... lallna is not a forward.

IMO two players that slow down play are Clyne and Milner. They're so bloody predictable. Milner refuses to cross on principle and both fullbacks prefer to pass it around the box. You can't score if you never shoot. At the moment it's Firmino rushing in and doing nothing productive, while Sturridge is dropping far far too deep. Switch the two around and play through the middle if the wings aren't working.

It's important to be dynamic during a match and switch it up, even if you only switch once in 5 attacks you still keep them guessing. As it is they just put two men on each fullback and everybody else in the box.

clyne certainly does. nearly everything is a back pass. he rarely gets a pass infront of him it must be said from lovren but still

milner you have to forgive cos his wrong footed that side

Can and lucas are not giving anything creatively in any sens eof controlling play. the myth of can is exposed here and the fact that henderson is badly missed is exposed.

Lucas isn't good enough for back up these days. Can is so sluggish also.

In all seriousness can anyone actually see where we are going to get a goal from ?
Someone said we looked like we had blown but to me we look devoid of any confidence which is just crazy

danilo is right most of them are back to play back passing and its not dynamic or threatening.

get coutinho on for one of can or lucas at HT. anything else is a waste of 15mins.

southampton fully deserve thier lead here. there is NOTHING dynamic or decent about or play and its nothing to do with their tactics. we have been playing this badly since coutinho got injured honestly.

    my thoughts so far
    1. I apologise to Karius
    2. Can - i never thought that highly of him but this season i'd rather not think about him at all.
3.Everyone pray for Matip to recover by Sunday
    4. JK please put Sturridge out wide so at least we have a hope that Firm if no one else is in the box
    5. FFS Mods ban that QPRTed twat

Do you guys reckon you will start with a similar line-up on Sunday? If not where do you think it will differ?

Lol at anyone criticising Sturridge this half.

We're very flat... maybe it's United on Sunday, maybe we're happy to get a draw/keep it alive for Anfield.

No creativity in midfield, missing pace out wide. Can't get Sturridge into the game. Missing Mane, Coutinho, Henderson badly.

Firmino (and indeed Lallana) is very good around the box. He doesn't drive the team forward however... Coutinho and Mane did that. Neither are present.

Well you know you are crap when your keeper is the best player in the side. Sturridge has hardly broken sweat.

Need to put Coutinho on and Sturridge of and put Firmino in the middle. Can bring Origi on for Can or Lucas if things get desperate in the last 10 minutes. Saints are playing us at our own closing down game and succeeding.

Lucas has been fine, he's hit every pass.
It's up top our problem lies, along with the attacking players.

Laugh away...his inclusion makes us static and predictable up front and he tries to be clever on the ball while standing completely still and gives the ball away...

He's not the only one...I gave ever outfield player a 3.

Back to cowardly passing and continuing with let's touch the ball five times before releasing it...

We're so **** it's unbelievable. This all started at Sunderland. Up till then I thought we'd got past our defensive jitters, especially against Everton and City, so that even if we weren't clicking up front, like tonight, we'd still keep solid and offer nothing to them. Now we're defending like we did early in the season, but unlike then, we're not getting four or five chances to gloss over it.
