I am. Van Dyke made 3 mistakes each one compounding the other. First, he gives the ball away whilst under no pressure, then he gets sucked into trying to get it back (to be fair Classie should have shooed him out the way and gone after it), then he gets beaten way too easily, then, of course, he's out of position.

    Job done. Blame apportioned!

The thing is, I'm not going to hound him about it, but it is a learning opportunity. Giving the ball away is just a mistake, no real blame there, it happens. The real error was in chasing the winger and that he needs to learn from, but as I said above, Classie didn't help him. I can imagine Reed in the same position tearing after the ball which would have enabled VD to get back into a decent position to cover the cross..

Is Harry Reed the new Cork!!

    There's a thread for you.

To be honest, to all Reed fans here (and I like him, I just don't think he's the reincarnation of Claude Makelele) I'm afraid that RK clearly prefers the likes of Romeu and, it would seem, Clasie, over the ginger terrier. I'm willing to go with him on that one.

Nigel said, we never get too high when we win, nor too low when we lose.

Ronald said, we don't make parties about winning, but we don't make **** about losing.

Between them there's a message there somewhere for all of us. :)

Could be. Mind you I haven't been overly impressed with Cork at Swansea. Maybe another ex-Saint who just fit the jigsaw here and doesn't go so well elsewhere.

Hmm i have been thinking the same, really liked Jack Cork here but the games that ive seen him play for Swansea he hasnt looked anywhere near as effective. On each occasion that ive seen Harry Reed play he has looked the part, so its a shame that he cant force himself into the team or even on to the bench - but thats life Jim. Im pretty sure that he would have been more effective than friend Clasie given the match situation last Sat, he was just anonymous when it came to defending a lead against a very good attacking team.

Sometimes it's not a matter of one player being better than another, but the right player for the right situation. I'd like to see Reed get some playing time for developmental purposes, but I don't have an issue with Koeman preferring Romeu, Clasie, Wanyama, Davis, etc. in setting his lineup and reserves.

I think that Reed is our best shutdown-type midfielder. He is not nearly as accomplished with the ball as Romeu. But it turns out that since we hardly even got a sniff of the ball, maybe it would have been better to focus on defense. That doesn't mean Koeman made a mistake. You can't cover every contingency. You make the best decisions you can, but sometimes because of bad luck or unforeseeable circumstances it doesn't work out.

    Ghosts are at work.

By. The way. Any of my posts quoted where I came across as abnoxious and aggressive aren't mine either :)

    * I know, that halves the post count!*

    Spooky!

There is some weird **** going on on the forum lately. The other night every thread on the Moderators board was deleted, and Admin can't retrieve anything. Nobody seems to know how it happened, which is worrying.

Yes, I've had the odd thing happen lately.. We all becoming ordinary members except CF was one. Quoting text and finding out I'm replying to the Let's Talk Bloody FIFA 2030 Yet Again thread :) for another example. One of the things about this software [or Firefox - I haven't checked] is that it retains a memory of quoted text in the reply window. So, if you decide not to reply after all, but come back to the same thread later you'll find the quoted text above anything you write unless you look and erase it. That's been like that since the software change.

The Not606 phone app is pretty average. Full of odd things happen there. Have to say, when I first reviewed it I called it merely adequate because it just wasn't that good and hasn't improved a jot since. It's fine for a free thing, although one can report inappropriate adverts until one is blue in the face. It doesn't make any difference at all despite the reassurances from the ad provider. My review was right next to another's which considered it nothing less than a tour de force and praised owner Mick. All I can say is some people are easily pleased [sorry Mick, just being honest in my review]. :)
