My point entirely :) He deserved no credit after that game?

I've only read maybe one person saying anything other than he maybe made mistakes yesterday anway. Relax. I haven't commented as I wasn't there this time.

Having said that he was badly at fault for the first goal. Firstly, he gave the ball away when under no pressure, then he got sucked in to trying to win it back and was beaten very easily, by then he was completely out of position as he should have been exactly where the cross came in.

I think he did play well but also rode his luck at times.

I'm fantastically hungover. What happened yesterday? Was Ron right that Leicester deserved it?

You're talking in extremes, so just because Koeman did brilliantly against Chelsea we should duck our heads when he makes a poor substitution in another game? You don't get a week pass just because you win at Stamford Bridge just the same as you don't celebrate a manager whose side has poor form and gets a fluke win.

Football works game by game. Koeman worked wonders against Chelsea. Yesterday he was arguably to blame for us dropping two points.

    Well done to Leicester then.

is what I'm guessing the last 25 pages have not been saying. Even so we have had a bit of luck over the last 2 years so these things do happen. Anyway I'd better watch MOTD before I start spouting too many more uninformed opinions.

Had a bit of luck yesterday too. Our second goal was offside.

Leicester's second half performance was the most dominant against us since Chelsea last season at SMS. They were quite simply unbelievable, any team would've struggled against them, but it does make me wonder why they don't start with Mahrez. Dyer was also very good when he came on, the curse of ex players again!

My opinion of Romeu is that I have been really impressed with his passing ability, but somewhat disappointed in his defense.

He appears to be a little slow and awkward. Fast players seem to get by him a lot, and then he compounds that problem by picking up silly yellows fouling them. So I would be hesitant to put him in as well. I think Albrighton/Mehraz/Dyers could have blown right by him. And he wouldn't have helped in terms of us being slower to just about every 50/50 ball. Not sure his passing ability would have helped that much as we rarely even got the ball, and one good passer in a sea of players giving the ball away might have been enough of a difference.

My beef is more with the Jay Rodriguez substitution. That would have been the opportunity to have both Clasie AND Romeu on the pitch. Both of whom have flaws but ostensibly should be better in a "Help we need defense!" scenario than Rodriguez. And at that point it was obvious we needed defense. Because I still don't think Clasie was bad. I think he just failed to stop what was already happening. So that was Koeman's chance to say "Whoa, should have put Romeu in earlier, Clasie is not what we need here. I'll fix it now."

But really in retrospect, I think the player we would have wanted in there was Harrison Reed.

SFC just tweeted that a year ago today we put 8 past Sunderland...nice to repeat that against Liverpool. Okay...a 1-0 win will do.

Football does work game by game, but some people are calling him tactically poor because he got it wrong in one game. Not you, but some are. It goes both ways.

Taken me a while to get to a point where I feel joining in with this is possible and I'm pretty happy with your analysis.
I did think that Romeu should have come on rather than Clasie as things had already started to get out of hand and that's a big ask for a debutant just back from an injury, but I don't want to be wise after the event and you're right, he had a 2nd chance to get Romeu on and didn't take it. Don't know why but again we have the benefit of hindsight here.

I'm with you on Harry. Why isn't he playing?

I can't read the whole thread here so I don't know what else has ben said on Kelv, but we really can't play him again in the Prem as his previously pretty awaful kicking is now clearly too much of a liability at this level. I've said before that Stek's kicking is worth almost a goal a game to us and Kelv's is the opposite. I can't blame him specifically for the equaliser as there were opportunities for others to stop it, but with the general standard of his kicking it was always a disaster waiting to happen. Why aren't we playing Gazzaniga?

    So far we've had ;

    Kelvin's poor kicking
    Ronald's poor substitutions
    Midfield going missing
No one able to pass to a team mate
Clasie is out of his depth
    Referee was a twat
    Leicester being the better team

All of them valid points, but none of them would have mattered if during that very poor 2nd half we had taken one of the three very good scoring opportunities we had. There is sometimes a lack of ruthlessness in our play and yesterday we paid the price. With the score at 2-0 Graziano and Sadio (x2) both had clear chances to kill it off but failed to even hit the target. You may say that if they were more clinical finishers they would be playing for a better team but is it unreasonable to expect at least one out of three to be taken?
So there you have it, to a poor defense and poor midfield I've added a poor attack. The whole team's poor managed by a poor manager.

While I'm here, I have to mention poor old Cedric. Has he managed to finish a game without a bandage round his head? He does seem to come in for some pretty rough treatment and the guy who sparked him yesterday didn't even get a yellow. That's what you get for having a learner ref I suppose.

Just caught up with all the views and think I should add something positive about Jordy Clasie, because damn it, no one else has.

I agree with the sympathy vote, in that coming back from injury and being chucked into a game against a Leicester side playing at an intensity he has probably never come across before was throwing him at the very deepest end.
As others have said, Ron needed to put in an extra body at the back, rather than just change personnel. Because we were getting over-run from minute one in the second half when Leicester pressed higher up the pitch.

But I promised a positive post for Jordy and it's his passing. I was very impressed with the rare occasions he was able to get hold of the football. He got his head up, had vision to pick forward passes and above all execute them.
It has been forgotten by those who wish to label his performance as "anonymous" that the Mane chances we're ruing were provided by a Clasie pass.

Also, a leicester fan posted pre-match to look out for their little midfielder (number 14). Don't have time to look up the name. Man of the match performance for me. One every 50/50 and got the ball forward nice and simply and shows you don't have to be big and strong to be a good defensive midfielder.

I assumed that was the Leicester fans....if not, that was a disgrace after all the team has done in recent years. Entitled to be disappointed, but this was one game...not a run of ten.
