Just turned on Sky...one minute later....the first mention of the game that shall not be spoken of in polite society.
Bloody hell, is that Roger Taylor? Bit discomforting in all sorts of ways, that. I probably would btw. Blue ink. Probably.
Oh it'll definitely be plentiful in the build up. And they'll mention it as we come out. "And here come Southampton, a year after..."
Have to hold my hands up and admit to being hugely wrong about Everton this season. I thought that James would be a flop and I also didn't realise Ancelotti would get to spend north of £100m! Although Everton won't be right up there come the end of the season, this will still be tough. I'd certainly take a draw.
They have a stronger squad than before, much better structure now, some match winners in their side and are managed by one of the best managers the game has seen. I can see them finishing in the top eight, maybe pushing top six. Still think we can get something out of todays game as they are not at full strength and we are at home. As you have written, will be a tough game.
LAWRO'S PREDICTION Everton are still unbeaten but I have a feeling that run ends here. Southampton are looking more like the side they were in the summer when they finished last season so strongly. Goals are not a problem for them with Danny Ings playing so well. With Everton, they will have to do things a bit differently in attack while Richarlison is suspended and it is going to be interesting to see what Carlo Ancelotti does while he is out. Prediction: 2-0
1 year on and that is the 1st time I've actually watched those highlights - few of the goals I had never actually seen. Thought it would give me a sense of how far we have progressed since then... I was wrong. Just pissed me off... again!!
Reading through that reminded me that they played the nine goals on the big screen during the warm up in the return fixture. Tossers.
All we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history. What is this 9-0 of which you speak. Be gone 1-1 today. That’ll do
