https://talksport.com/football/487497/premier-league-table-super-computer-predicts-final-standings/ Supercomputer predicted Saints to finish 16th and Cardiff, Fulham, Huddersfield to be relegated. That'll do me....no need to play the rest of the season.
Barnes hasn't played a minute of senior football so you can't really count him as an option. Long can't score for **** and Obafemi is unproven.
Have we got anyone in the youth team that's worth taking a punt on as a striker? Ideally someone quick who we can put on with twenty minutes to go when the opposition defenders are getting tired.
Reckon we'll get Warnock'd here. Also reckon this will be the first team who park the bus a bit since we've had Ralph so it will be interesting to see how we cope tactically.
That kind of validates my point ... we have the numbers there, but not the quality. We know Long can't score for ****, we know Obafemi is unproven. Barnes has played first team football for us, and has just been registered in the PL squad.
You old romantic FLT! Never would have had you down for a Notting Hill movie fan. Errr. What does that make me!
Why is it? He’s already had them winning games and I’m sure he’ll win enough between now and May. You’ve said yourself the club decision making has been “much, much better” since November, yet you said you were worried about the club’s decision making. I just find that a strange position to put yourself in. I may be wrong, but I’d guess Les Reed drove a lot of the decision making and now he is gone, so I’m judging them from November. It’s been pretty decent. Bad DoF gone - good Bad manager gone - good Good coach in good Allowing good coach to shift players he doesn’t want - good Allowing good coach to have smaller squad that he wanted - good The only bad thing for me since November is we didn’t bring someone in, but I don’t think that was even a decision, as it appears they tried for a RB and a CF. RB wanted to stay at current club until season end. CF wasn’t for sale. Pretty good since november i’d say, so decision making should be a long way down your current list of worries.
You’ve missed my point, or I’ve worded it badly. Basically, I believe in RH abilities, but also scared that even he cant keep up a team as poor as ours. It’s not recent decisions that will let us down, it’s the last few years. We will see on Saturday I guess!
I’m very surprised at the general negativity on here. Serious question Os; with your above comment in mind, who of the present bottom 3 would you rather be then?
I wouldn’t say I’m negative at all! If I’ve come across that way, i apologise. I’m very happy with Saints at the moment, it’s nice to have a manager to believe in and the club is starting to pull in the right direction. I wouldn’t swap our team or manager for any of the bottom 3. We just need to get over this curse of not beating anyone around us in the table ASAP.
The bit I found a tad surprising was “but also scared that even he cant keep up a team as poor as ours”. Anyway agree with you that I wouldn’t swap our position with any of the present bottom 3 nor probably Burnley or even Newcastle. Big game Saturday tho. Cardiff didn’t look that great vs Bournemouth even tho they got a much needed win but we’ll definitely need to be at 100% that’s for sure. COYS.
I don't think this is so much negative as standard Saints insecurity, learned over years. I know I get it too Its easier playing top 6 in that you expect to lose and hope for more, but this is really a must win game if we want to carry on believing that Ralph is as good as he is There are still weaknesses in the squad and who doesn't worry that we might stop scoring again and that we always have a defensive mistake in us late on Not helped by a strike force that is either injured, misses a lot, can't run or is untested I hope our midfield keeps sticking em in, but how much easier would it be if SRL was still 28 and playing for us???
