Am I the only one who thinks this is an entertaining but competitive game. Brighton are very patient, strong in defence (yes if it was Saints we would be pleased, they just know how to put players off within the limits of the game). They also have a good play maker. We are going to have to be careful with the pace of Mackail-Smith
I've got the feeling this is the sort of game where one goal will decide it. I thought Brighton were going to actually play in the first 15 minutes of the first half but they quickly went back to their stifling tactics. Saints need to be careful and patient. As Merrers would say '...what Saints don't want to do' is let frustration get the better of them.
The rest of the league, having taken notice that Saints are not winning, appear to be taking it upon themselves once again to extend our lead...West Ham 1-0 down to Coventry, Boro 1-1 against Blackpool. Cardiff didn't get the memo...either that or they're the only team who didn't punt their transfer budget on Saints as champions in August.
True Lambert is getting pissed off you can tell, can't blame tho everytime he gets the ball he gets fouled.
Well I hope they keep Paynter on, although I can't see it with Barnes on the bench. As for us we've gotta just keep at it - cohesion will improve. Keep pulling them about, as they too comfortable at the back (the pulling betrays they a bit jittery individually), would be good to see De Ridder on 2nd half, and force errors
Beautiful goal...given enough chances to put in dangerous crosses around the box, we were going to get one.
Unless someone has to be taken off the field in a ziploc bag thereafter, this ref is not going to give a penalty.
