Sutton's prediction: 1 - 2 The Bees are yet to win on the road this season and only picked up their first away point against Brighton last time out but, this time, I see them taking all three. The Zutons frontman Dave McCabe, who supports Liverpool prediction: Brentford all day. 1 - 2
Lallana on Ivan Juric: “He’s come in and straight away we’ve looked more aggressive and solid. It’s been enjoyable, it’s been intense. “The demands are high but that’s what it needs to be - we’re sat bottom of the league.”
Interesting. So ‘more’, ‘enjoyable’ ‘intense’ and finally, ‘that’s what it needs to be’. So now we know, what many have known for a long time what wasn’t happening until December 2024. I readily admit that for some time, I was prepared to give RM time and support but that view was misplaced. That’s life.
You have to take what Yuki says with a pinch of salt because he also said we have good players in attack It's also hardly observation of the year to say that Martin was obsessed with possession and thought it was THE most important thing. We are the lowest scoring team in the league, so it's hardly surprising that a new manager comes in and is trying to make us attack more. Though it's obviously nice to hear that. Players will always back their current manager and their playing style too for obvious reasons. Probably only ever find out whether players really did enjoy the Martin style of football like they all said they did when they retire.
Probably correct but I believe it was reported only TBH made some type of social media “thank you” (happy to be corrected if wrong). That says a lot as well?
Are we going for the Keegan approach of "You score three and we'll score four"? It will make St Mary's more fun, if nothing else
It’s going to be a cold one so I bloody hope there’s something to get excited about on the pitch tomorrow!
As I'm not going to the Swansea game this will be the last of what I've just worked out to be 13 games in a row for me which I'm sure is my longest consecutive run ever. Shame we've been utterly abject for pretty much all of it Loss tomorrow and wins v Swansea and United coming up then...
I have a very strange glimmer of hope, might just be the strong coffee I’m drinking but there definitely is a tiny bit of confidence in a narrow win today
It's all coming together for us here: Playing team who are extremely poor away from home. First game where the new manager will have actually had some decent time on the training pitch. 6 days between games meaning we shouldn't be as knackered as we looked in parts of previous two matches Opposition played Wednesday so had considerably less rest than us. So 2-0 Brentford then
The gallows humour and air of cynical defeatism we have all needed to develop to be a true Saints fan! Obviously both goals will follow Saints corners when one of our defenders falls on his arse as they break. We expect nothing less.
