Another thing about next season to look forward to! Although no doubt we'll be away at somewhere like Stoke for a 12:30 KO
Saints won 1-0 apparently... https://www.11v11.com/matches/southampton-v-brentford-27-october-1934-101483/
And after that, we can turn to Man Utd being on their worst home run for decades. If we were even semi-decent, this would have been a juicy run of post Xmas fixtures. Alas not for us.
Brentford lost to Arsenal yesterday, so this will clearly dent their confidence, which will take several weeks to return. As such, Saints will be facing a despondent, dejected, Brentford team, who will be dreading a match at St Marys, where we will undoubtedly run out clear winners, kick-starting a phenomenal surge up the table during 2025. Or I'm dreaming again
2025 is the year for Saints. We could be the first team ever to survive from such a perilious position.
Why not? History tells us that whilst it does seem to repeat itself, that is not always the case and overwhelming odds in favour of a given result can be misleading!! 1976 comes to mind!!
Juric says Downes hasn't trained this week so far, will make a final call on his availability tomorrow
Great. With Fernandes suspended for this too that leaves us very light if he’s not back. Ugochukwu has to start and Lallana and Aribo can play a half each.
Only my third trip to St Mary's this season, and I'm feeling strangely confident about this one. But then, I was strangely confident before the Spurs game too. I think I am becoming estranged from reality in my old age. Reality is overrated anyway. ****it. UTS.
We are buggered. How do we have such a huge squad but still no CDM, strikers or wingers. Our recruitment is an absolute cluster ****, it really is
My third match too, Everton, Stoke so far, pattern there of actually winning matches!! Like you I have a smattering of optimism which wouldn’t make much noise if broken (again), but that’s Saints for you. Team news looks a bit off colour at present, we’ll see.
