I feel for Bournemouth, they had their arguably best player out with long term injury (Wilson), as well as their two biggest signings (Mings nad Gradel). They showed some good football at the start of the season, but are beginning to struggle as the effects of the small squad depth (caused mostly by said injuries) start to kick in. It won't be an easy match as Bournemouth will probably be content to sit back and let us have the initiative, are we are known to struggle at times when in need to break down a stubborn opponent. But we are at that level when anything but a win against newly promoted side at home would be a big disappointment.
I'm not sure Bournemouth know how to do sitting back. They play open and expansive and that's all they do. Extremely effective if they've got everybody fit and ready, but they're totally hung out to dry as of this run up to January. If they want to stay in the PL they are going to have to purchase somebody or three to replace those long term injured, and provide competition for when those players return.
I'm sure they will be busy enough and troublesome, and they still have some cracking players, for example Matt Ritchie but they are going to start losing heart soon, because the task is too big. I feel sorry for them too.
Hmm...careful with that. You're right on paper, but then neither should Leicester. Any team can panic when another tears into them.
Why shouldn't Liecester , they've shown they're a strong side this season. Their form may tail off with time, but the table doesn't lie at this moment. And it shows that Liecester are a fair bit stronger team than Bournemouth. Of course we will have to prove on the pitch that we're a better team than Bournemouth, but I don't don't see what's wrong with seeing us as big favourites in the encounter.
Yes, I read that earlier and was left with the impression that he'd torn the 3-0 compliment from his body so he had to fetch something back before he became ill. Half-decent is damning with faint praise, frankly. Most pundits are now well into their comfy they're a good side description. Lawro is pitting his skill against an egg chaser. He says 2-0, and the egg chaser says 1-2. Obviously has some sort of grievance which he can't control despite being a professional.
We're favourites no doubt, but on paper we're man-for-man a better team than Leicester. That was my point, albeit a badly made one! I just think confidence is good, but we'd be wise to not underestimate the opposition here.
Guilty of making assumption. Posted on twitter just before a match and they referred to the team as Boro....need to look before posting.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...y_s_return___six_years_after_leaving/?ref=rss Surman looking forward to his first return to SMS as a player since he left. I knew we were forced to sell him, but didn't realise that he left only days before Markus arrived. Wonder if he would have stayed if things had been different or if his heart was set on a move....he has always seemed fond of Saints.
Wasn't he involved in the naughty incident in a Pompey nightclub? I think it rather marred the opinion the club had of him, so easier to let him go.
No need to apologise Fran, it was lovely to see Guly's near-hat-trick again, not to mention Chaplow's Run, and of course the magnificent 27 pass Connolly goal.
Time is doing Surman no favours on here is it! He wasn't with Nathan and the bag snatchers & he clearly didn't want to move. The lad never put a foot wrong. I actually feel a bit sorry for him, he made a sacrifice for the club that didn't do himself many favours, he'll always get a good reception from me.
