There have been more times when the player on the cover did play, and isn't Lala on the next one? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2542463,00.html
listening to Adkins interview he is saying that Lambert is nearing fitness but he is keeping it a mystery! He is keeping his cards very close to his chest.
I have a gut feeling he won't, hopefully you're right. All I keep thinking of is how Adkins doesn't like rushing back players.
A bit of good news that shouldn't be underestimated for its negative effects - http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/s...wind_leaves_ollie_under_the_weather_1_4048285 Very little training went on yesterday for the Pool. Holloway didn't get to properly illustrate his tactics. In other words after spending time sussing us out and how to counter us, he is now only going to get today to explain this to his players. Good news!
I'm not sure. The article implied that they went "indoors", could have been the floor of the toilets that Holloway was using for tactics for all we know. One of the posters underneath didn't sound best pleased with their non-league facilities. Bet they wish they benefited from a football village like we do (oh and it's getting bigger and better - further smugness).
Well at least it appears that Lambert is close to fitness, even if he might not be fit enough to play tomorrow - and that should therefore mean that he's fit for next weekend (assuming nothing happens to him between and then, touch wood). I wouldn't give us much chance of winning at Fratton without him.
The fact that Saints have released more seats in that section suggests that Blackpool haven't taken up many seats. Lunchtime and on the tv may account for some of it.
I saw some people mentioning Ben Reeves. Heard today that he was due to go on loan to Doncaster to get some more first team experience, but it fell through after Sean O'Driscoll got the boot. Also we offered him to Bournemouth but Bradbury didn't want/need him.
Sounds wierd but the Bournemouth Chairman's (Eddie Mitchell) nephew uses the gym I work in, think he's also mates with Ben Reeves, and he just mentioned today that Saints were trying to get Ben out on loan but nothing materialized.
When Lua Lua last played against you - as far as I recall anyway - he ripped you to shreads. Do you think he's still a major threat? Are you expecting any special plans to keep him quiet or do you think that there's no need? I'm genuinely interested.
I think you know full well what Lua-Lua did to us that day Adkins may have a specific plan for him, but I doubt it. If we play to our potential, they'll be no need to worry about him.
I didn't know if he'd played against you since then in a friendly or something. I think I'd agree that if your on your game you wont need to worry about him since you could dominate Blackpool. Still, Lua Lua is a wildcard, capable of making chances from nothing, so even that might not keep him quiet.
Lambert fit to play according to the ITK bloke on SWforums who always gets team news spot on. Great news!
Adkins on Sky this morning talking about our 'magnificant football club', but will not reveal if Lambert is fit until just before the match. I'd love to see him play, but no point in taking chances. Sky also going on about our run of home wins, but I don't think we should concentrate too much on this.
