Well the winning run is bound to come to an end soon but I don't think it will be against Blackpool, I don't think they're better than us at the mo and I think they will miss Shelvey. Aware of the Phillips curse after seeing him score numerous goals against us for Brum but I think whatever side we put out, we will win 2-1 with Lallana grabbing one of the goals
I've just checked out Blackpool's form. Half-decent recent form, but their season as a whole is slightly bit erratic to say the least - certainly proves why they're on the fringes of the play-offs, rather than the fringes of automatic. WWLLDDWDLDWLWLLWWDDLW (Away: WDDLDLLWDL) Can hardly string three results together
maybe a team of: (same as my previous, just without Lambert) Davis Richardson Hooiveld Fonte Harding Lallana Schneiderlin Hammond Holmes Reeves Guly SUBS: Bart, Martin, Cork, De Ridder, Barnard
If my memory is correct, which given my age is improbable! Blackpool are vulnerable from set plays. Can see our centre backs getting something and it might be worth having a flutter on them to score first tomorrow. On offer at 33/1 and 40/1.
Phillips will score if he plays, hopefully we have enough firepower from Lallana and the rest if the boys of Lambert is missing. Really highlights Nige's need to get another striker in January.
With a bit of luck they will have practiced a few corner tactics, we have had many and quite frankly they have been woeful.
We've been pretty dangerous from set-plays this season with Fox and Lambert taking them. Lambert picking out Fonte at the far post when the defenders expect him to slam it is one of my favourites.
Talking about Lambert on OS...just a piece from the programme. Smoke and mirrors..can't see him playing
I'm confused,i saw that piece and i thought the opposite, why would they have an interview with a player that's injured? unless it's all pre-arranged who it's going to be! Has there been an injured player on the front before?
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2542463,00.html "Rickie Lambert is hoping to get the chance to show Blackpool what they missed out on this weekend." Not definitive that he's fit but looks promising!!
Set plays, yes, but not corners, they usually end up being over hit and sailing over everyones head, or a free kick given for pushing/shirt tugging e.t.c. but few result in actual direct strikes on goal from the ball crossed in.
This is being discussed on the Saints v Blackpool match thread and it Rickie has not been declared fit for definite
If it was an OS article I would be hopeful, but it's quoting from the programme which presumably is prepared a few days in advance. There's also the question of the programme curse..where the person starring in the programme doesn't even play.
