I think the ref made a few mistakes, just more in Blackpool's favour. Prob should have won it at the end when De Ridder overran the ball but fair play to Blackpool they defended well second half and deserved a point. Missing Chaplow in midfield. And why does nobody shoot when near the area apart from Guly?
There are positives from this. 1. Rickie Lambert. Injury. What injury? He was excellent in the first half in particular and got us a point. 2. We played well, better in the first half and probably did enough to win. 3. We created plenty of chances. Overall, i'm satisifed. Obviously we've got an issue with Bart and what would happen if Kelvin got a serious injury but this could be a potentially vital point come the end of the season.
I thought that it was a great game, Saints played really well, especially Guly and Lallana. We prob deserved the victory with all the chances we created however to get a draw was great going into the last 10 mins losing. I thought that the Saints were really patient and did so well after the shock of conceding the second especially when the crowd and referee did not help. It is up to us to get behind the team while we are going through a sticky patch as they all put in a great shift today. I also thought Blackpool were solid and defended well whilst countering with pace. I think one thing that we need to learn from watching the first half is that our midfield is by-passed too easily whereas Blackpool made it much harder for us to penetrate.
