Same old story. Opposition clinical, we aren’t.
We're still in this of course, but for ****s sake we need to stop giving the ball away so easily.
But aggressive Libs but I agree with the sentiment. He always does same & in many occasions its fcuking obvious it’s just going to cause arguments. A bigger man would just let it go.
Need to improve at actually creating chances. I know we are bottom of the PL in that stat but we get into good positions regularly just lack the final ball or right decision way too often
Probably right laces but perhaps he should see when he’s waving a red flag...
Currently, yep. This.
Ok then. Glass 2 of my Chianti.
We're going to win 8-2.
You heard it here first.
Positive No7 is BACK!!!!!
That last piece of play is what annoys me about Saints.
JWP cuts in, Diallo makes a run inside, the pass is on for Diallo to be 1 on 1 with a centre back, and Prowsey passes backwards.
This is another game where the approach play is good but no real defence splitting passes to create a simple tap in type of goal like theirs was.
Plenty of shooting opportunities but nothing we can say “that should have been a goal”, unless I blinked and missed it.
Really need to be more incisive up front.
How can a deliberate movement towards the ball and use of the hand to stop the ball going towards the goal not be a penalty? Dreadful decision. If it happened to one of the Manchester clubs there would be an outcry ....
Its half time and we are only 1 goal down, WE CAN DO THIS.
But its black and white, no room for interpretation
In slow motion yes there is movement but you can't be sure that's deliberate handball.
100% that DID NOT come off his thigh. ****ing robbed.
I'm pretty sure Tom is not defending the law - I'd imagine he agrees that this is a great example of why the law is rubbish and needs re-writing.
BUT as it is currently written, they did give the right decision.
He's not saying it shouldn't be a penalty in terms of what we'd all like the laws to say, he's saying it shouldn't be a penalty as the laws are currently written (And could/should be changed for situations exactly like this)
Yeah I get that mate. Thing for me is I could accept it not going against us in the past but I can't when someone's spent two minutes looking at it to still get it wrong.
Fwiw I'd hate var even if it got everything right as I don't think it's worth the negative aspects. But I was continually told that it was absolutely necessary to correct howlers so get frustrated when it fails to do that and I get told I can't whinge about Var.
I know of at least ten people btw who have stopped/reduced their attendance since it came in. Be good for NL clubs though.
Yes it did!
Agreed, whenever we get into these open games (end to end stuff) we always seem to come a cropper... going to be hard getting back into this. They are well set up to nullify us, we need to change things around in this second half.
Not from where I'm sat.
Anyway, as Carragher and Keane both agree, it didn’t even change direction off his thigh so it’s a pen.
