I was thinking the same. Besides, the big issue on Gazza last year was his command of the penalty area and we now know that this was due in part to his master of the English language. His distribution is far superior to anything Davis and Boruc have to offer and gives us a real edge on the counter.
Absolutely mirrors my feelings about Dani. Think it's a very different situation to Gaston, as I genuinely think Dani has all the requisite qualities to make that adaptation.
Part of me would still like to see them play together. Just think they would be on the same wavelength with flick ons etc.
Assuming you mean Lambert and Osvaldo, I wholeheartedly agree. Doubt there'll be many, or indeed any, occasions on which they'll both start, but whenever they've been on the pitch together there've been signs of a growing potential to play each other in.
I assumed he meant Dani and Gaston. In which case I agree! It would be good to see and probably quite telling. I understand and accept the argument that it takes a while to adapt from Italian to English league but we all meet in European competition and that doesn't seem to be a major issue for the Italian team does it.
Think there is a difference between playing the odd game in Europe and playing week in and week out in the PL. There are no easy games here...even a top side can lose if they don't treat opposition with respect. Also there is no coasting and getting your breath back with the style we play which means training is intense as well. Remember that Lallana smiled when he realised he was missing training by meeting up with the England squad and JWP said that he and Luke found the England training less hard than the other players because they were used to all out training. As said elsewhere, this may suit Osvaldo more than Gaston.
Good Article on our now 2nd choice goalkeeper, Cody Cropper. http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/...er-u-s-international-goalkeeper-cody-cropper/
Yep would assume so since he's been assigned a squad number for tonight. Young Will Brit has been training with the first team too, presumably in case either PG or CC pick up an injury.
There's a 27 year old goalkeeper in the prime of his life on loan from Chelmsford at Dartmouth if we need back-up. He's had glowing reports in the past. Here's an example from Wikipedia: "On 13 August 2009 Forecast joined Grimsby Town on a one-month loan following an injury to Town's first-choice goalkeeper Nick Colgan. Forecast made his full professional debut the following day for Grimsby against Crewe Alexandra in a 4–0 defeat, The Crewe Chronicle described Forecast's debut as "one of the most shockingly inept displays the Football League has ever seen".
Actually I now regret the above post. If I Wikied myself and found stuff like that I'd be more than gutted!
Osvaldo is in the matchday magazine talking about the intensity of the football here...says it has taken him by surprise. Reckons it is 10 times the intensity in Italy. Says he is learning and improving all the time. Roughly what we all thought anyway.
I'm going for 3-1 Saints tonight. Feeling positive we can bounce back against a side closer to our level, and at home. Morgan missing is such a big blow though, so realistically anything could happen now.
