So the pen just made them angry

 

They have been crawling all over us for the whole of the second half to be fair.

 

It has be be soul destroying for the team. Playing their hearts out, keeping Villa at bay, and then seeing Smallbone coming on.

 

Yeah just too good for us. Two subs making an instant difference for them whereas we can only bring on the likes of Smallbone and Stewart. The difference in quality is quite astounding really. I'm happy with the effort we have shown though.

 

‘Playing their hearts out’ is pushing the envelope slightly here.

 

Probably one of our better performances of the season. Shame we couldn't capitalise on the saved penalty.

Really poor from Dibling for the first but just a lack of experience I think. Was caught in two minds.

The Sully for Smallbone sub was weird. Not sure who was meant to be wide left after that.

 

Great to see Jay Robinson on the pitch. Fantastic name.

None of our outfield players could be ****ed it seems.

I honestly believe the quality of our current side is somewhere mid table in the Championship, I would be really surprised to see this side reach the playoffs.
Just lacking in every facet of the game - the majority of the side put in real effort today but the gap in class was staggering, plain to see.
The only player I see who's worth his place is Fernandes, the rest ( apart from Ramsdale ) is just meh

 

Saints lazy and switched off - why were none of them switched on and following that penalty in ? McGinn was. Does my head in.
