Very distracting putting him in front of his own picture. Good idea they thought...don't do it again. Lovely guy.
I note in The Mirror that they decided on the song for Sadio: ''It's all about the Mane, Mane, Mane'' Can't wait for the behind the scenes video...usuually out Monday, isn't it?.
Terrific to see Nigel Adkins there as well and obviously enjoying it. Its a shame that people didn't know he was there, I'm sure there would have been a, "One Nigel Adkins".
Interestingly Chris Ashton of Saracens scored the fastest hat trick of tries in Premiership history yesterday. A strange coincidence I thought.
Saw a happy smiling Shane Long on Match of the Day. Oviously pleased with the result and proud of his 2nd goal. And to see his face drop when the BBC guy just wanted to talk about Mane. Felt a bit sorry for him then.
I agree. I don't think enough was made of his contribution to the game. Apart from his goals, it was his reading of the game and his aggression that led to Mane's 2nd goal, and his skill that led the the 3rd.
He is also extremely strong. When he chooses not to fall over he amazes me how he can hold off bigger and stronger looking opponents. Look at the first goal how he just brushed off Hutton.
http://wall.saintsfc.co.uk/Article/1194625-Three-goals-in-176-seconds--Manes-record-breaking-treble A video with timer of Mane's goals...in case you haven't seen them for an hour or two.
Noticed that at the time, couldn't help but smile. Glad he managed to score. He was a tad upset about being substituted but Ron said something to him which got him laughing and he then seemed to enjoy the moment, high-fivng all and sundry.
Before, I forget I wanted to praise Steve Davis. I would have liked Reed to play in the Schneiderlin role against Villa, but they played Davis instead and I thought he made a very good job of it. He obviously has bundles of energy and the bonus is that he didn't have any goal scoring opportunities!
Barry Gale was thrown into the SMS jail for over celebrating....think we know what that feels like Starting a Free Barry campaign....looks like this is going to run and run.
I agree about SD, he played much better yesterday, it seems when he has a good game, no one notices until they see the statistics afterwards, which seems a bit unfair.
I saw that, it looked like Ron was congratulating him on his goal, whereupon he pointed out he had, actually scored two! Love the guy.
A group of us have been wondering why they haven't been playing Steven in a more defensive midfield role, so I was very pleased to see him do so well in that role on Saturday. He runs and chases and we put them under so much pressure, it was great to see. Would be brilliant to see something like this next week ........
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32775851 Quote "Former Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton said on Final Score that he thought that Mane had proved himself worthy of a move to a big club next season based on his performances. That's the last thing Saints manager Ronald Koeman wants to hear".
