I still much prefer its original name: the Magic Rectangle.

Magic rectangle with a line and a dot at the bottom is its correct term

C'mon Theo you owe us a hat-trick for the last time we played the Gooners in the cup.

As it's a cup game do you think we'll get all the way through another live TV game commentary without a mention of 'that' game...??

I don't think it was mentioned in the Shrewsbury commentary.....

Do you think we'll get through another match thread without a poster asking whether the commentator will mention that game or not?

Arsenal will have an advantage, from years of playing in near silent stadia...

We just need to understand that the pundits and commentators come from a different order of society than most of us and live in a world of semi-fantasy. They are driven by their producers appetite for so called audience numbers, and unfortunately have a range in the use of our wonderful language that makes me wonder as to whether or not they ever studied it at school. The absence of real crowds in matches has, for me, highlighted this problem even more so. Therefore 'that match' fills a vacuum and saves their energy in seeking to be more original in their commentary. It would not surprise me to hear it mentioned for at least the length of time we have Ralph as our manager.

I have noticed they talk a lot more **** now there are no crowds. IN the past they could keep quiet and the crowd noise filled the void, now we have inane drivel.

For many of the pundits the void is between their ears.

They should try talking through a 5 day test match. Different thing altogether as I love hearing about Bumble going to get his bins in :)

Fran, you've cracked it! Now there are no crowds in the grounds, we should use the test match commentators!
