They've asked the PL to "stop the count"....

Dramatic turn around for team and manager who not so long ago got thumped 9-0 at home.

Apparently it's the first time they've ever been top.

Wonder when we'll see the first Saints shirt round town?'

They used to sponsor Northwood Club in Cottingham so they had some connections around here.
Remember a decent Brid Town player been poached by them once and the son of a decent local amateur player. Forgot his name but his old man played for Chalk Lane.

Good to see the top half of the table looking a bit different, long may it last.

On Northgate ? opposite the park. It was knocked down and replaced by new houses about 25 years ago, maybe more. Reg Morfitt had it. They were a top Sunday League team back in the day and played in Southampton colours. Remember a Saints team photo on the wall in there.

Kudos to the board at the New Dell...most clubs would have binned the manager after that 9-0 .

Good to see Leicester still up there too.

Still not seen any Leicester shirts round town even though they won the league.

Back in about 2007 I was in Anlaby and there was a young kid on a bike wearing the latest Southampton shirt . I had a chat with him about the shirt , his dad was from Hampshire but had married a Hull girl .

There was a point where Southampton were interested in Mark Greaves. It never happened. Later, we let him go to Boston.
