Ooh ooh ooh please let him play at Sunderland. I'd forgive him instantly and name my next pet after him if he chinned the uruguyan
Pretty fair assessment I think, and certainly not the first to ask the question: How misguided were Southampton to think they could tame Dani Osvaldo?
I'm sure he feels regret. He has a hot temper but he's no psychopath. Not sure there's a way back for him though. Sad fact is, if he was already at 10 goals this season he'd be welcomed back with open arms.
Interesting point actually. I wonder how things might have been different had he been banging them in left, right and centre. Would the club have been leaning on the rest of the players a bit more to let him 'back in', and would the fans have been quite so one-sided on all of this (generally I mean, not so much on here).
Perhaps the frustration of not getting regular games and goals (though he only really has himself to blame for that) was even the underlying reason for the incident. Often when people are chronically stressed a small irritation can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Remember the stick he got from the Roma fans and how happy he was when he arrived. Our fans are not as rough as the Roma fans, but he must be thinking that it will start all over again. Will be odd if he plays for us again...his name will get a few boos. Guly will be happy though as he will feel truly loved by comparison.
IF he plays for us, we need to back him not jeer him. No doubt there will be a load of morons who abuse him though. Just have to hope this whole thing will spur him on to score aload of goals.
I think most people will just be uncomfortable (as will he no doubt), but if people can boo Guly they are capable of anything.
If he is given the chance, and I won't complain if he does, his best way of getting back into our good books is to channel his angst into scoring a hat-trick, zero to hero in one easy go. Unfair pressure from those that have only received one side of the affair, isn't Saintly. If he is selected by Poch you have to respect that and get behind the whole team, not ostracise an individual, as that will do more harm than good, just saying.
