Couldn't quite fully understand the lyrics to the song

This what its like to be pompey
this what its like to be ????????
????????????????????????????
?????????????? Pochettino Pochettino Pochettino

Any help?
 
Everyone sings "this is what it's like to be Pompey, this is what it's like to be small, you sign Whittingham, we sign Pochettino, Pochettino, Pochettino" but it doesn't really make any sense. How is "this" what it's like?
 
I believe it's:

This is how it feels to be Pompey,
This is how it feels to be small,
You sign Whittingham,
We sign Pochettino...

It doesn't really make much sense, the tune is nicked off Man City's inspiral carpets tune, and must confuse the hell out of Pochettino himself. One of my least favourite chants.

Yep, don't like it. I don't like any chants and songs that focus on another club rather than our own. I must be old fashioned because... wait for it... it didn't happen in my day :)

I don't like it either, so I don't think you're old fashioned. It seems pretty sad that at least 75% of our songs are about a League Two club rather than our own team.
 
It's really bad. Please, guys, stop singing about Portsmouth. It makes you sound really dense (and me, by extension).
 
Awful song, poor Mauricio probably asks David Salas every game 'What are they saying', to which Salas replies 'It sounds like some **** from Google Translate, but from what I understand, they are comparing you to Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham."
 
Our support is bad, we sing our 'own' song worse than any other team I can think of, the only other chants we have are about Portsmouth, monosyllabic or to the tune of The White Stripes.

It's great.

I grew up in the era of "wash your mouth out son...." and timeless classics such as "we hate pompey, we hate pompey" as a result I don't mind them. But we don't need any more and that ones just rubbish. What we need it to get the whole stadium singing.

Have you tried singing in Chapel. The family enclosure at the dell made more noise.
 
If we ever win the league, we'll have to suffer through our fans singing that awful "campeones" song, and mispronouncing all of it.
 
How about a nice verse of "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain"? Or "Kumbaya"?

I'll bring my acoustic guitar to the next game. Everyone else bring bongos.

On a side note, hopefully Pompey will sack Guy Whittingham soon, thus rendering the chant useless.

Joe, have you noticed that 6-7 replies have gone by without a withering retort of we won't ever win the league or similar. It just goes to show how far we've come. :)

Those who wish to post that exact phrase below this post need not bother. I've already blown the impact you intend to make. ;)
