I appreciate that new managers like to surround themselves with familiar faces, but Adkins seems to be bringing in a lot of his old Southampton crew to Reading. First Andy Crosby as Assistant Manager and now Dean Wilkins as first team coach.

With rumours about Billy Sharp also being recruited from Southampton, I wonder how many more will follow?

Could be the tea lady next!!!!

I'm just waiting for Southamptons interpreter to turn up now so that we can start to understand what the hell Tommy Cockles is talking about.

Why are you called the Royals when some years ago you were known as the biscuit boys? I saw this in Readers Digestive.

The old Huntley and Palmers biscuit company originated in Reading and there was a factory in the town up until about the late 1970's, so the club was traditionally known as the biscuitmen.

The nickname the Royals is simply because Reading is in the Royal county of Berkshire.

Thats it briefly. We have a few club historians among our fans so someone may fill in any details I've missed.

Good read that Readers Digestive ain't it ;)
