It's not a myth. He gives possession away on a regular basis. Has poor delivery and his first touch is often a pass...to the opposition. Considering the amount of opportunities he gets to cross the ball in I think 11 assists is quite a poor return to be honest. And why does it matter if he is 23? He's been playing regularly in their first team for 5 odd years. There is a reason the majority of Arsenal fans were boo'ing him this season.
Walcott is a victim of his own hype. People expected a world beater straight away, and when he didn't fulfil this ridiculous expectation, people jumped on the negative band wagon calling him "****."
I'll agree with that point you make - very valid. However I think we will just have to agree to disagree on how good he actually is ;-)
Changing the topic slightly, who (being half realistic), would you want to see relegated this season? For me it's QPR, West Ham and Villa.
Let's not all get ahead of ourselves here! Forget plans, lets just both stay in the prem this coming season! Whoever Lambert signs will improve our squad, end of!
We didn't leave you, we never left you, we just decided we needed a break. We needed some time to sort things out in our head. You were just getting too close and it felt like we were losing our own identity. We needed some space. We took some time out travelling and saw the world, visiting places like Ipswich really opened our eyes to how lucky we are. I think when we arrived back we were better for it, grown as a person so to speak. When we got back to our normal life, as if by chance, we knocked a notebook from its resting place on the desk. An old polaroid picture fell out. It was one of "us" together. Flicking through the pages it was dotted with "Canaries 4 Saints" and similar doddles. The memories came flooding back, it was as if you were in the room, but of course, *sigh* you weren't there. It seemed too late, the realisation that we'd blown our chances with the one club who we ever loved was hard to bear. And then it all changed. You came back into our life, and we feel complete again. We love you, Southampton. We always have.
I only ever went to Southampton once, it was the FA cup quarterfinal in 1992. 0-0 draw at the Dell. Remember a Royal Mail van driver tried to run me over (not sure if it was because I was wearing Yellow... We won the replay at Carrow Road though
£7M does make me nervous I must admit. But then hearing the same amount being knocked around for Jordan Rhodes makes me happy we're looking at the jay man! Phew.
I was there too, in the Archers Road terrace. They threw coins at us after the final whistle, despite it being a 0 - 0 draw Tim Flowers, Alan Shearer etc... The replay at Carra was one of the most incredible matches I've ever witnessed. Super Chrissy Sutton 3 minutes before a penalty shoot out - with which they'd beaten Man ure in the previous round! Awesome
