I'll stick my head up for the first time ever on this forum as I was there from 75-80 after being at North Ferriby until then. Chose Hunsley over Hymers in 75 as all my mates moved on to Hunsley. Moved away darn sarrff in the Summer of 80.
My grandmother taught there until 1985, but was long gone by the time I arrived in 1999. My grandfather was also the headteacher of Brough school for years. And I think they both tought at Penshurst, wherever that is.
I went to Pocklington. We played South Hunsley at rugby once at Ionions ground. Was an awful night and we were something like 40-4 up at half time. The ref called the game off 10 mins into the second half due to the rain/sleet/hail. I'm 40 so anyone of a similar age play in that game? Probably took place when in the 4th or 5th form
Think it is my first time too, was at Hunsley from 72 to 79, suspect I know, or am known, to a few others on here
My mother taught there in the '60's after Welton HS and later at Tranby Croft. I attended Marist College.
We must have been in the same year, although I didn't move from Howden until 75 and left in 77 because I didn't fancy staying to do A levels and Uni after but with hindsight I'd have probably got where I am now a lot sooner!
